no comment, mine snaped so we did the timing belt when the engine was dropped =P

but from what ive seen, most drop the engine mount on the driver side where the timing belt is to free up room.

did you change your tensioner? it's a weak point on the H22 and something you may wanna change...

bLaz3d 01-14-2009 10:01 AM

i changed it but auto tensioner tho...honda qouted me 180 for auto tensioner and 275 for manual ones...money is tight so can afford yet...but i have plans in the future to rebuild the engine.....

Chan_Mr_Chan 01-22-2009 10:10 PM

hey giggity you have a H22 too? how much did it cost to change the timing belt? did you change it yourself?? i am new to prelude couple months ago. lots to learn man!!

anti-vip 01-23-2009 06:17 AM

water pump + t-belt + balancer belt = 200ish(honda) ......yeah i did it myself...if you are changing it to manual tensioner it is 270ish(honda)...i got an auto tensioner for 180....if you are not gona ghange it you need a special tool to compress the auto tensioner....lotsa work and money man....

I can't wrap my head around how hard can a timing belt change on a H22A be because I have a V6 DOHC now THAT is hard.

what's the issue dawg?

Puck Luck 01-23-2009 03:38 PM

All prelude t-belts i found are tight on space to work on. Especially the 88-91. When trying to line up the new belt, the intake cam always moves so got to be careful with that. The vtec preludes i found were a bit easier. The V6's i find are easier than the preludes cause there's a little more room to work with. Honda's anyway

Chan_Mr_Chan 01-23-2009 06:35 PM
