Fifth Gear tests the Ferrari California

My god does this car look awful......

Timpo 01-12-2009 08:16 PM

awful? why? I think it looks pretty good.

Eastwood 01-12-2009 08:22 PM

I'd rather have an F430. I hate the idea of a luxury Ferrari. It ruins their racing heritage.

Harvey Specter 01-12-2009 08:25 PM

Doesn't look like a super car or how a Ferrari should look like. It actually looks quite goofy especially with those Lexus IS-F wannabe tailpipes.

What? it's a GT and Ferraris have been making GTS since the 40s..

Adrenaline Rush 01-12-2009 09:14 PM

Pretty much a Jack of all trades Ferrari. Though I too would take a F430, I can see the appeal this car is going to have. Not really digging the wheel design though....

cococly 01-12-2009 09:17 PM

No matter how ugly it is, the waiting list for this car is still 3years long already ( as of 2008)

I agree that the F430 looks much better than this, most likely because this one has a front mounted V8 .... LOL... does it make sense??

Did I hear it's heavier than a 599GTB......???

Timpo 01-12-2009 09:21 PM

it's not the first time tho, here are some luxury Ferraris...and I think they're all pretty cool

i think the california is priced between the 430 and 599?

i still think the 599 looks better.

Lomac 01-12-2009 11:35 PM

I was always under the impression that the California was supposed to be a cheaper, entry-level Ferrari. Guess I was wrong.

Still freakin' ugly, though.

maxx 01-12-2009 11:58 PM

i think it very good looking. and its made for those posh ladies in the OC. perfectly good market. makes popping out for milk stylish and easy in the 365 day 27c weather.

i love it.

p.s. at least those tailpipes arent fake. sorry toyota.

Pretz 01-13-2009 03:00 AM

the scene looks great, so does the 599.

tamiya_s2000 01-13-2009 09:01 AM

that 599 looks sick

Wykydtron 01-13-2009 09:45 AM

I like the California. I think it looks really good. 599 and 430 look better, but it still looks really good.

That's what I thought, too

guess what?

GM just copied Toyota's fake tailpipe idea for the new Buick.

marc0lishuz 01-13-2009 12:42 PM

Fail on all counts (except the engine).

EM2 01-13-2009 02:40 PM

+1. The reality is that the majority of the buyers are probably fat, balding, middle aged executives who drive the car on the weekends and maybe to the office once in awhile. I would imagine very few owners would track it and all the racing heritage they need is the prancing horse and the price tag.

RSXmiloRSx 01-13-2009 05:07 PM

the interior, i agree is hideous... it should be black... but shit brown gives it that luxurious skidmark feeling right? :) and i'm guessing that they made it to cater to everyone, not just lead foots. exterior looks good though

!LittleDragon 01-13-2009 06:56 PM

Dun like the car... I like Vicki
