That's the price to live in Vancouver... there will always be a less attractive guy willing to spend whatever it takes to have an attractive arm piece

True enough. But I think any guy with any decent social ineptitude can ween and filter out these so-called materialistic girls almost at first glance, if not, at first meeting.

BoneThug 01-21-2009 04:43 PM

gold diggers can make good trophy girls though. the trick is just to not give them any money

officejesus 01-21-2009 09:57 PM

girls don't really care, as far as i know.
i had a gheetto 91 honda civic and i was always embarrassed to drive it
now that i have a 240, they don't even know the difference. but i feel better with a nicer car hahaahahahah

Amuse 01-21-2009 11:04 PM

Before my gf was my gf, she needed a ride one day so I drove her (for the 1st time) in my newly bought used 240sx that was 15 years old (my first car 1.5 years ago). There were actually holes in the passenger seat and mold on the headrests.. So luckily I had a big clear garbage bag in my trunk and I put it over the seat. She didn't mind and was happy I drove her.

Now she is my gf and sometimes she prefers to take skytrain or take a long bus ride to go on dates!!

So depends on the girl I guess, you don't need to have a nice car.

Its not too hard to spot a gold digger regardless of the car you drive anyways. And no, girls do not care about the car you drive, as long as it gets from point A to point B then they are fine with it, it would be a bonus if you happen to have a nice car though.

iam_dan 01-22-2009 12:52 AM

id show up with my parents' sienna first...and see what they think of it lol.
then if all goes well and they actually dont care about the car i drive, ill show up in my actual car.

not a ballin' ride, but personally i think my s14 kouki is pretty nice looking.

aw come on, it can't be that bad if you still got a cat!

in any case, suck it up and weld in another resonator. all the power, none of the noise.

LOL I think this is the ONLY thread I've ever read in Relationship with actual car talk.

k2_alpha 01-23-2009 12:22 PM

i once drove a girl in my grandparents only 78 Malibu.
Bone stock except for an aftermarket exhaust

Girl was impressed that i had a car that was close to 20 years older than me.
we never hit it off as we developed a brother and sister relationship first.

But moral of the story is, is that it is not the car that matters (mind you that it cant completely look and smell like a pile of shit), it is the girl that matters the most. . Keep in mind that you want the girl to be after you, not what your car represents.

The7even 01-23-2009 03:59 PM

I can tell you right now, no girl thats worth your time will care about your car.

Inaii 01-23-2009 06:50 PM

If it's not a rotary, sorry. I can't date you =] My brothers might kill you. Or try to subvert you...

^ that's pretty romantic... on a boat!!!!

BallPeenHammer 01-28-2009 11:16 AM

The woman I would date wouldn't care about what my car does.

Everyone I know, knows that my car is my hobby, toy, commuter, and passion.
it's loud, it's low, it's got a body kit, and the interior rattles a bit from all the stiffening.

If they don't like it, drive YOUR OWN DAMN CAR. Or else, I'll drive and they can take the BUS.
