hooking up pc to plasma

im getting no pic when i plug my pc into my plasma
video card is nvidea gx440 i know its an old card and my tv is a plasma samsung 530
tv says mode not found..works in safe mode but wont keep the settings

Hmmm, is the gx440 even capable of playing at the correct res?

got it working for now but can u recommend a good video card or should i just upgrade my motherboard

i'm pretty sure all geforce 4 series were AGP slot. All new video cards now are PCI-E.
If you upgrade your mobo now, you'll have to build a new computer

ATI X1550 is an excellent AGP card. Retails around $50

...it would also depend on what you intend to watch. If you wanted to watch HD stuff, you would need a new comp.

if works in safe mode (640x480 or 800x600) but not in normal windows mode. I'm betting your windows resolution is too high to work on the TV... try lowering it.

I have seen some problems with the S-Video TV out "auto detecting" on older video cards. About 1/2 of the GF4 cards have this problem.
