car meets stopped being cool 4 years ago

now we just drink beer alot

and burn things

everyone who has posted on this thread has talked in person or msn to me in the last half hour

maybe thats why we dont have meets?

I Remember the two biggest car meets i think we ever had in kelowna, Definatly the one Flagpole meet and then the UBCO meet where we all went ricing after. Easy 100+ cars friday at 10pm, so many Decals. The good old days

and the RSS meet.

if you think about it... between cars.. bikes and trucks/suv's... a "car" meet now would actualy be pretty cool... such a wide variety these days..

not to mention the calibre of everyones vehicles now. Imagine a meet where everyone showed up, and there is a handful of 10 second street cars, bikes, big bad diesels, stock oe performance cars, high quality well built tuner cars. It would be pretty damn cool.

mike...your thought about it being cool 4 years ago...think about kids who are into cars that arent as old as you ,getting to the point where if they wanted to make their car cool..they might finally be getting it together and proud of it...

i dont think its a question of what year...but just the age group...Rice80 has posted this on 3 or more local forums...obviously some yonger people still want it to happen...

The problem is, these days, kids aren't getting into cars.
Funny this is brought up, I was just discussing this earlier today.
How often do you see a riced out anything anymore on the roads? Or anything custom for that matter? You just don't see it nearly as often as it used to be. Maybe I'm just old and not looking for it anymore, but I'm pretty sure the popularity of it has plumetted.

You just are'nt looking man. It's everywhere, maybe not as ricey as it was before.. Cars from 5 years ago stuck out like sore thumbs. Now most stuff looks not much different than stock. Big meets don't happen much anymore, but there are still many enthusiasts from all over.

its harder to customize things now. even changing a deck in your car now wasnt as easy as it was 4 years ago.

Meets = Heat nowadays... I can't wait for my car to be done... I'll represent the Rice in K-town hard core.... Bikes be damned ;)

i def. see tons of "modified" vehilcles out there.. its just not like it used to be. vehicles these days seem to be alot more tastefully done. and alot less "stand out in a crowd" ish.. and with peoples intrest spanning out into more then one kind of car its alot less heaty too... you have euro trash.. some high hp imports.. bikes..suv's and trucks..

getting a little soemthing together could be interesting...
