Hopefully they find the guy. Silver Dodge Journey with the first 3 digits of the license should help them narrow it down to the vehicle. There won't be too many of those in the ICBC system.

I've had a couple of close calls where people decided to lane change into me while I was right beside them. I evaded the first one, the second one I was actually hoping they hit me because I was driving a customer's car where the best possible situation for them would have been a write-off and a new car. Yes, the VW had that many problems.

You're full of good suggestion today aren't you. First it's restricting people's occupation to locations where they reside. Now, its that motorists should be equipped with firearms in the event of road rage? :lol Classic.

Berzerker 01-19-2009 04:41 PM

I wish I had of been there :( I'm fairly certain things would have ended up differently.

Interesting note on this though.. the Police didn't ask Care for any information ie. Name, Phone Number or anything like that. Any thoughts as to why?

Berz out.

They probably did and she probably didn't mention it because it's assumed that the cops are smart enough to ask?

I am all about people staying in the right lane when not passing. But if you are the guy behind, you need to give people time to move over regardless why they are in the passing lane.

tamiya_s2000 01-19-2009 05:19 PM

so he was on ur rite... n u were in the slow lane...? so how did 1 side of ur wheels end up rollin on the ditch?!

Marco911 01-19-2009 05:46 PM

I'm with Rich Sandor on this one. Dude probably lost it because of all the fast lane hogs. Let this be a lesson: Keep right unless passing.

One could say he had a history of high speed passes.

TWO OF YOUR SNOT-NOSED JOCKEYS DID A FLYBY ON MY TOWER AT OVER 400 KNOTS! I WANT SOME BUTTS, I WANT 'EM NOW, I'VE HAD IT!

bengy 01-19-2009 07:24 PM

Isn't that stretch of highway 100-110kmh? Stay right execept to pass, don't go with the flow of traffic in the left lane doing the limit. Also if you're in the left lane, check your mirrors regularly, people tend to go faster

Death2Theft 01-19-2009 07:50 PM

You must have provoked him somehow, next time your driving on the highway on your cellphone doing your make up get the #@$#@ outta the fast lane.

crazyturtle 01-19-2009 08:29 PM

probably kidnapped that child and stole that car

goo3 01-19-2009 10:17 PM

I was driving in from Pitt Meadows to Kits on Sunday, and I swear, in the stretch between the Cape Horn and the Grandview exit on the freeway, I passed no fewer than 10 cars on the right because they were puttering along in the left lane. EVERY FUCKING ONE OF THEM, I rolled in behind them and waited a full 20-30s giving them the chance to move over into the wide-open space in the right lane, before finally going around. And EIGHT of those ten had AT LEAST two people in them, most had three or four, which means they could quite happily have been in the HOV lane instead of clogging up the PASSING LANE.

"What was the name of that truck driving school, Mav? Truck Masters.... ?"

Revscene. The only place where people can justify road rage by saying that you're driving too slow.

I don't think the people who posted here condone what happened, just giving out some reasons as to why it happened.

Marco911 01-20-2009 03:51 AM

I've felt like doing exactly what that truck driver did on numerous occasions. Fortunately common sense prevails, and I pass on the right when the opportunity arises. Don't drive in a way that impedes the flow of faster traffic. Is that too hard to comprehend?

Not that it's "justification" by any means, but instead of continually firing back at the SYMPTOMS of a particular problem, ie. road rage and aggressive driving, perhaps ICBC and the police should invest a little time into addressing the CAUSE of the problem, ie. utter lack of common sense and common courtesy on the roads... such as failure to keep right (as required by law)... failure to signal properly (like sitting at a light in the left lane until traffic is all stacked up behind you, THEN turning on your left signal as soon as the light turns green, thus trapping a bunch of cars behind you that otherwise might have had a chance to change lanes if your signal had been on when it should have been)... all those things that make other drivers almost universally look at you and think, "Get off the road, you f'ing moron."
