Chinese New Year festivities or celebrations?

I have friends visiting from Germany. Can anyone recommend good Chinese New Year festivities or celebrations around town (Vancouver/Richmond/Burnaby) for them to see either on the weekend or on Monday January 26? I thought it would be cool if they could see a lion dance or something like that as they have never seen one before.

There should be the chinatown parade on the Sunday (26th) and there's the usual congregation of the masses at Tinseltown selling junk.
