Yeah, the police have to search the residence on a 911 hang up. The reason being was already mentioned before hand, incase the person at the door is say, a criminal, or is the homeowner being threatened to make the police leave, etc. They only leave in the movies, doesnt work like that in real life. No illegal search, he has no grounds to sue. He was letting an 11 month old play with a phone, thats just bad parenting and his own fuck up.

Actually its not that simple. Cops get a 911 from this house, somebody hangs up.
They then go to the house, but nobody answers the door.
Of coarse they would end up being suspicious.

umm, not really peter... all you have to do is tell them that your there and nothing is wrong... for example speaking through the window. When cops are at your front door you are not obligated to open the door for them.
