Eventually

wait for the facelift

Harvey Specter 01-22-2009 02:10 PM

The E90's already got a facelift. The E92's are set for a facelift next year.

fetched 01-22-2009 02:34 PM

DCT came out in Europe already but i'm sure it won't be available for 335i here for couple of years.
E92's aren't getting a face lift next year

Pumbaa 01-22-2009 02:44 PM

I see, cuz I heard if equipped DCT, it can acutally out run M3 easily...:D
With some mods of course, but much easier.

You can already 'out run' an M3 with the 335i now with Vishu, you don't NEED the DCT lol

Nitroholic 01-22-2009 03:38 PM

is your left foot broken? why can't you shift your own gears?

Yup, that's why people buy automatic, because their left foot is broken.
Even though manual is the way to go for sport cars, automatic does have a lot of advantages over the manual.

DCT != automatic

Pumbaa 01-22-2009 08:26 PM

lol, no man, my feet is fine, just I think DCT shift faster than MT, cause not everyone is a pro.

So, what would the 0-60 time be like with Vish mod, and DCT? 4 sec? 3.5? lol?

I knew this old guy who drove a pretty hardcore modified s/c Civic that was auto (was good for 11s or something). It was a slushbox because his left knee was busted (walked with a cane)

Waiting for the E90 to get the DCT then it's order time! :D

I've been reading reviews from so many happy owners overseas about DCT and it seems to be pretty good

TOPEC 01-22-2009 09:28 PM

the automatics arent bad at all, i was actually surprised after testing both the 135i and 335i. so u dont really need DCT to out run a M3.

I don't see why not, the E90's got a facelift so why would BMW wait even longer to update the E92?

even the current auto on the 335i can shift fast as MT... if not faster. The auto on the 335i is very good. Locks up at very low rpm, auto downshifts as you slow down.

It's not whether you see why or why not, BMW will not be releasing a face lift of E92 next year, that's all i'm saying. E90 had a face lift because it has been around a lot longer than the E92. And it was needed because of the total remake of C and A4. A full over haul for the E90 is expect by 2011-2012

+1, auto for the 335i is faster than the manual. The only problem is the paddle shifts, both left and right acts as the same function so you can basically up/down shift with one hand. press to shift up, press it down to down gear...Very.Very.Retarded!

Harvey Specter 01-23-2009 12:22 AM

I guess we'll wait and see come this Spring.

yes i dont know y they did this, it confused the heck out of me when i was testing driving one. y can't they just stick with left down right up?

fetched 01-23-2009 01:24 AM

I wanted to drive the car into the ditch when the salesman told me that they made it so you can paddle shift with one hand.........

.Renn.Sport 01-23-2009 01:28 AM

i wonder if any one has been able to swap the M-DCT wheel from M3 to a 335i

fetched 01-23-2009 02:15 AM

Yes. DCT paddles alone are about 400-600 dollars + M3 steering wheel is around that price also, you can purchase both online or get raped at stealerships. Or you can spend 1000 on a BMW PERFORMANCE STEERING WHEEL YEE!!!

it won't be happening this spring. based on bmw's history with facelifts, the earliest model year would be 2010, which would be in the 3rd or 4th quarter of '09. even if a facelift was planned for spring, there would already be tons of spy pics floating around.

Harvey Specter 01-23-2009 03:21 AM

When do 2010 models go into production?
