Where's the balloon-a-gram guy when I need him!
(sucks how he's not making them anymore =( )

I'd mind as well bring up this topic

Met this girl on Friday at a club
danced with her got her number in the end
started texting and she wants me to come down again this friday for Valentines
she says that if i get something for her
I get something in return =)

she said "flowers!"
I said "no, they're overplayed and that I go for uniqueness" when it comes to presents

But crap. Teddy Bears? Chocolates? Its not my style.

Coles Notes:
She's desperate
She wants me to come back to the club this friday
She expects me to bring a present and that i'll be rewarded if I do

I'm looking for something that's not traditional presents (ie. roses, teddy bears, chocolates)
I'm more of a unique guy when it comes to presents.

I'll be giving the present to her at the club as well.

You're not unique at all... you're getting ideas from RS'ers...

@Vmec: Why didn't I ask myself that question. Hah.

Nonetheless, the most replies i've seen on this thread, and most of the talk is about flowers, teddybears, chocolates and gifts for guys. I guess the question could be put like this, to what extent (hard work, time, and effort) would you go through just to get your valentines the perfect valentines present? Not like something where I can go across the street and pick up some roses for about 20bucks.

But if you don't have anything to contribute to help me out in this situation, then I'd appreciate it if you don't say anything at all.

@Nintensity - Do you think it's worth it to go through all that effort for a girl you just recently met? I think the standard flowers, chocolate, etc.. is enough. If you really wanna put effort, why don't you make the choco yourself. If it was me, I'd test the waters first. Give the standard cheap stuff and see what the response is- But that's just me.

If she asked for flowers perhaps that IS a perfect gift for her. If you said please just buy me a shirt and she gets you a tie you'd be the WTF is she just "unique"?

@ecchiecchi: She brought the idea that we do this, not me. Most of the girl i meet are all good girls..but this girl is definitely more of a badass type. Yah, I guess you can say its more of a testing water for me and something new to explore.
I'll start off small and go from there, because start off with $$ value, her expectations for future events (her birthday) will be much more (oh dear.. there's a hole in my wallet)

I guess i'm semi crafty at things, I used to make origami roses, i should take a shot at this again haha

Nintensity : Worst thing to do is to play her game. get her to play on your playing field.

Bring her nothing, and when she asks, tell her you have a hotel room booked for the night as a present, and then tell her to find you at the end of the night while you go back to go clubbing with the boys.

besides, do you know how uber gay you'll be if you were in line holding a box of chocolate and flowers. man...

yah. i thought about that for a second too. There's not absolute way that once I give it to her, where the hell is she going to put those flowers? back in her car? her jacket? wtf!?!
mind as well give it to her at the end ....or tell her what you just told me so she can want more at the end.
and yes, that's the very last thing i'd wanna do is to look like a geek wanting some girl action by holding a bouquet of roses @ lineup.

man i gotta start learning more from you guys from time to time.

I went there on Sunday and it was pretty good. The service was very good, the waiter kept coming back to make sure we had water. We had their Lobster Feast 3 course dinner, I chose the salmon stuffed with lobster and shrimp. I didn't think it was that good because I could barly taste the lobster or shrimp with the salmon and it seemed a bit dry. The chocolate mudpie was really good though. My gf ordered the steak with shrimp and lobster and that seemed way better then the salmon, she got lot's of lobster pieces and shrimp.

Hope this helps.

Ya, and then when she goes onto RS she can see her BF posting on the relationship section asking questions like "What kind of presents can i get her".

We're not doing the whole go-out-for-dinner, buy-me-flowers type of valentines.

If you wanted reservations make them at least 1 month to at least 2 weeks in advance.
