Where can I get an R4?
 

My girlfriend's little brother's birthday is coming up, and I was wondering where I can get pick one of those up. I understand Crystal Mall used to have them, and they're off the market now, but there's some other sorts of "R4 type" cards that go by a different name that works just as well?

Any idea what these new things are called and where I can pick one up?

That's not the original R4 though because those are discontinued.

+1 for dealextreme. I got a few R4's from there and they all work fine. Plus you can't go wrong with free shipping. They don't take very long either

They also have a handful of other ones, works just the same.

i also bought 2 from dealextreme. one for myself and a friend

i got 3, 1 for me 2 for gifts. satisfied with dealextreme, though they did have that period where the wait time was over a month

I remember when it 1st came out, I paid like $60-$70 for a R4 at Crystal Mall. :mad:

its not in the main circle of crystal mall.
you have to look for the little "wing" where all the computer stores are
$80 gets you an R4 and 1g mini sd

I got mine at Crystal Mall way back a few years ago

I hear it's pretty cheap there now too. Saves you shipping fees and stuff

My friend got one last month, they're only like.....40ish now and still comes with a 1gig microsd

I got my R4 with 2gig micro SD and USB charger for $50 off a guy on Craigslist. His ads are on there all the time (location is listed as Richmond, Surrey, Vancouver). Can't miss it.

And don't give me that "I don't have a credit card" excuse; go to Safeway, pick up a $25 visa gift card and spend the rest on starbucks.

I'd definitely wouldn't get an R4 because sometimes you will need to patch the games to get them to work. You don't have to do this as much for any of the other cards.

I ordered an R4 + 2gb SD card from dealextreme (after seeing this thread), and it's been so long like more than a week, but they haven't even shipped yet... does it usually take this long? I don't mind waiting but I'm just scared it might never even come, so if anyone with previous experience with these guys can reassure me that I didn't just get gipped, that'd be cool :D even though it was only 15 BUCKS!! hahaha

it can take between 2-4 weeks, so just wait a bit more, haha

LOL, might be because I orderd 10 from them last week.. Says my ETA is Feb10th...... I used to buy mine from Crystal mall @ J&K for $70 you get a R4 with 2GB micro SD.... Just waiting for my r4's already got my 10 - 2GB micros @ $2 each..... It usually takes 2-3 weeks standard time....

Has anyone ever bought the bottom touch screen for the nds???? Legit??
