Revscene Poker Club

Hey, if you're a real money poker player, we are planning on having weekly tournaments online, and eventually real tables. Please join the Revscene Poker Club group for now, as that's where much of the new info will be found.

Tournaments will probably be in the $5 buy-in range, and depending on how many people we get, there could be a nice prize in the end for the winner each week ;)

This is a moderated group, and only accounts in good standing will be accepted.

MyPresIzBlack 01-28-2009 11:02 AM

What do you mean by "accounts in good standing"?
Im interested, but not sure if I qualify?

Nvasion 01-28-2009 11:06 AM

SkinnyPupp 01-28-2009 11:28 AM

Grandmaster TSE 01-28-2009 11:33 AM

i joined
and i think it would be awesome for real table games

I'd be interested in live play as well the biggest problem is the lower mainland is massive and people are scattered throughout. :)

I don't mind traveling to a game and if people feel like driving into the valley I don't mind hosting a game either as long as it's a smaller group no more then 10 people. I really live in the burbs though so for most it probably wouldn't be convenient or worth it.

Face to face tourneys would be pretty fun.

411ken 01-28-2009 11:40 AM

I joined as well. When are you thinking of starting it?

Where do you live Quasi?

ws6ta 01-28-2009 11:56 AM

I joined...I wouldn't come for a face to face tournament for a 5 dollar buy in but online fun is cool. face to face needs to be a bare minimum of 50...

SkinnyPupp 01-28-2009 11:58 AM

Yeah in-person games is just a theoretical thing right now, something we're talking about. Online tourneys is something I really want to do, and should be happening as soon as we get at least 10 people to confirm they will do it.

411ken 01-28-2009 12:46 PM

I'd play as long as it's after work.. of course lol....

and I agree about house games.. 50 is good if there's a bunch of ppl... but 20 is good enough if there's just 10.

Synaptik 01-28-2009 02:16 PM

i prefer live play, watching people's expressions during poker is 50% of the game.

LsquareD 01-28-2009 02:19 PM

+1 for live play. But where can it be held? :lol

Slifer 01-28-2009 02:22 PM

+1 for live play

Grandmaster TSE 01-28-2009 02:35 PM

could try to work something out for people that has the space to hold it

Langley border 5 minutes from #1 Hwy, 3 minutes from Willowbrook mall.

f00tzilla 01-28-2009 04:36 PM

+1 for live play and it'll have to be more than $5 buy in for sure like at least $20 if we have 3 tables

Ch28 01-28-2009 04:48 PM

I think we'd need to do a bunch of online games first within the same group of people. I know I sure as hell wouldn't want to invite a bunch of strangers over when money is involved.

punkwax 01-28-2009 05:32 PM

Liveplay is the way to go. Too many suckouts/bullshit hands online. Need a real deck of cards.

After trust established should organize a hall with $50 buy in.

That being said, I'm still down for online first as long as it's after work :)

Quasi - I'm 5 mins away, if you're ever looking to fill a seat shoot me a PM!

Fafine 01-28-2009 07:18 PM

Suckouts happen in real life too you know. The decks are all the same

HonestTea 01-28-2009 09:26 PM

I might be interested for online, depends how trustable the site is lol and how we're able to pay

!SG 01-28-2009 11:02 PM

we are trying online tournaments now, working with casinos to possibly host a future real tournament.

or worse case scenario, we all go hog that electronic table at the villa... =P

411ken 01-29-2009 10:00 AM

wow.. tourney at a casino? will this just be RS members or anyone? I know it's all planning but just curious lol.

I'm fully aware suckouts happen in real life. About 5% as often as online. ;)
