ICBC: Replacement Cost Coverage

http://www.icbc.com/insurance/insura...ement_cost.asp

Hey guys,

My friend is thinking about buying a BRAND NEW Skyline and he was looking into the replacement cost coverage insurance.

Question: the website mentions that if the vehicle is "written off in a damage claim, Replacement Cost Coverage gives you several options"

Does this "damage claim" relate to only car accidents?

My friend is worried that if his GTR is stolen and is stripped down when the police finds it, that ICBC would not replace his vehicle for a brand new GTR.

1) what if the car is stolen and police finds it stripped?
2) what if the car is stolen but the police cannot find the car?

Thanks!

your friend should call a insurance agent and ask....

sounds more like he's planning on getting his car stolen and stripped and is so scared to bring attention to himself that he's resorting to asking a buddy to ask online

hehe sorry couldnt resist

ICBC replacement will replace the vehicle when the vehicle is written off. Written off can consist of an accident. If it is stolen, if it costs ICBC more money to put and fix the car back together, then they will replace it.

He owned an Integra Type-R in the past and had it stolen outside of his house before. He is deciding of getting another collector car (GTR) or just get a more regular car (ie BMW / Audi or downgrading to regular 350z).

He would be really devastated if the beloved GTR is stripped, recovered, fixed and handed back to him. Just ask all the other ITR owners or even car owners in the lower mainland that had their car jacked. Its never ever the same when you get it back.

If he doesn't have a garage, I wouldn't suggest getting a GTR.
