noob photo software question

d300 not for pscs2? "could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document" huhhh.??! haha

i own a d80 and whenever i PP, i use photoshop cs2. i shoot raw and finejpeg.. i dont know if shooting both raw and jpeg helps or affects anything, but it does with me since i can view which i will choose to PP..

anywayz.. i just got my d300 recently.. shot with both raw and jpeg.. after shooting some photos, took out my memory, then clicked on the raw image i wanted to PP.. but then that happens.... "could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document"

why is this? what software should i be using? or do i just have to change some settings in the camera itself? dont know.. advices will be greatly appriciated.. TIA.

Adobe RAW CS3 will open D300 NEF's, but not CS2. CS3 is not sold anymore, so you need to get CS4. The cheapest way to get CS4 is to buy the education version. It's Adobe's sneaky way to force users to upgrade...CS3 will not open 5D mkII RAW files, and Adobe has officially stated that they will not issue an update for CS3. Guess how pissed off clients who bought the 5D mkII were?
