DC5 hands down, case closed

350z/STI wont fit ur budget unless u get an 03 one with higher milleage or US imported, G35 try lookin at $30g, s2k costs more as well
RX8 and 350z g35 will not treat ur wallet well in terms of gas consumption

GTI? blahhhh ur choice

If you can afford to get a new rabbit and you like it enough, go for it.

this is revscene and everyone has different tastes in what they feel is a practical car for your price range.

go out and test drive it and search up on different forums for the cars your considering. read some posts by other members in those specific forums to see if they have had any issues with the car.

it's your money so get what you want

btw - any car you get will probably end up looking like a camry on RS anyways.

thats a gti....not a rabbit. a 07-08 rabbit does not have hid. you will need a 09 for that

I think you mean 05-06 rsx because they never had any 07-08 rsx. Anyways I used to have a 05-06 RSX it was pretty good on gas and very reliable, never had any problems at all.

The rabbit will have more rear seat room then the rsx though.

If you want to spend ALL of that $20,000 (and likely a little more) I'd get a used TSX if I were in your position.

One tidbit of advice: Check the insurance cost yearly before you buy. You'd be surprised the premium of some of these cars suggested.

A review from a few days back

http://www.canadiandriver.com/2009/0...-trendline.htm

A European car will usually offer a better interior with a quieter ride, and not to mention more torque. Any Japanese cars will usually be a high-reving one in your price range.

I drive a Golf myself so I might be a bit bias, but the MKV is a good car nonetheless.

Especially with the RSX... might want to call and get a price quote before getting your heart set on anything. The g/f wanted an RSX until she found out how much they are to insure. Talk about a hardcore ass raping

buy dude, you used to drive a Ferrari haha

The rabbit should be pretty good for daily driving. The GTi feels like a underpowered car to me unless it's chipped. No offence but I would just drive a rabbit and save the extra money for something else.

Cobalt SS, if you dont mind payments they might be a good start out car, with little to no modification these cars are fun.

Now they'll run you 30g out the door with taxes and every thing included but its 0 percent fiancing, take your time to pay it all off.

was seriously considering an wrx but the sticker price for those came close to 30G for an 06, and for older ones, your dealing with high interest in payments( for me anyways, didnt have the cash) and also no warranty

I was in a similar position. Had to decide between the rabbit and the imprezza 2.5 sport.
Got the Imprezza mostly because i go snowboarding a lot and the AWD really attracted me. Also the sales person was infinitely better at Subaru than at VW. Didn't prejudge me or anything like VW.

Correction: They think the huge list of mods justifies a $10k+ price hike

tbh if i ever spend more money on mods than your car, i'd probably not sell it cuz i just dont think its worth it. On the topic though, premiums should also be something that you should factor into while buying a car... for example a 95 civic is cheap and reliable, but the premium for those will totally outweigh the cheapness of the car. if i rmb right, the 88-95 civic is the most stolen vehicle in canada.
