noisy neighbour renovating Is there anything I can do about it? I live on the 12th floor and we suspect the 13th floor same unit as us is renovating flooring. They are using super loud equipments for a whole day and yesterday. Where can I complain about this? Are they allowed to do flooring without my permission? help!! it's so fckiing loud my lamp is moving back and forth.. |
they are allowed to renovate but only on certain hours of the day. complain to your strata see what they can do for you. |
Lol, I don't think they need your permission to change something in their apartment. Also, if it's a company doing the work, general work hours are 9-5, so if it's during the day, you're probably f'd |
it's so loud that the ceiling finishing is falling down |
So call the building manager? |
turns out it was a fcking loser renovating on the 15th floor which is 3 floors up this is why concrete buildings suck.. the whole building structure vibrates with the impact guns everyone was complaining from gound floor all the way to 30th floor |
Wow? That's pretty excessive... I'm in a concrete building as well, and while I have heard when work is being done somewhere in the building, it wasn't anywhere close to what you're describing... |
Wow, that's pretty shitty. |
This reminds me of Ashton Kutcher ripping his neighbor because his neighbor who's building a new house next door starts work on the house 7 in the morning. His rant was posted yesterday on TMZ. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=8NqZcTC810E |
you usually get permits from strata to do renos, so if hes got permission you are S.O.L. the guy above me did tile in his place last year in the summer, so he had the wetsaw going all hours of the day. loud as fawk but i lived with it. it will be all over soon enough, dont piss someone off over nothing as for concrete buildings being loud you must be nuts, go live in a wood building, a friend of mine does, a neighbor 3 doors down sneezes you can say "bless you" and he hears you. |
that was pretty weak sauce haha |

whoever gave him the permission to impact hammer the floor concrete is in trouble. |
you don't like the sounds and smells of your neighbors then don't live in a condo |

LOL...I did some work at a high end building downtown...removing tile with an electric jackhammer. I ran into my customer in the basement parking lot. Her apt was on the 21st floor. In the elevator I tell her, "you hear that noise? That's us." The entire building was vibrating. Registered 12 complaints at the front desk. My crew blasted it all day straight with barely a break. I just laughed. |
thats got to suck. I would just buy some ear plugs or crank the music up |
Sounds like a grow op being constructed. |
id take a dump and put in a brown bag and leave it at their front door.. |
unless these workers were pounding the shit outta the building after 6pm...just suck it up! |
stop complaining and let them finish the renovation. its probably not gonna take more than a few days... what if you decide to do some renos in the future and same guy living below you starts complaining. |
It's probably not a jackhammer but one of those pneumatic spades - they rip up tile but are super loud. Usually shouldn't take more than a day to do most jobs though... |

Why not talk to the neighbor or have your lawyer do it for you? |
i was going to say the same thing. |
