Same thing with me, so I checked out the files in my HD, and there were a whole bunch of game samplers, videos, etc that were on my HD that I didn't download...not sure if they were pre-loaded or automatically downloaded from xbox live?

if i go buy an arcade version it will be 240 after tax then another 40 to mod so 280 and ill get the same thing except no hdd

Go for it!!! Arcade is $240 + Refurbished 20GB Hard drive $25 + Mod $40= $300+
You might aswell go for the modded vr, since it probably already come with a shitload of games, if you do consider it, one thing u might want to check are the "backed up" games, just so you know whats in bad condition. I have a modded xbox and i treat my games like shit since a new game would cost me 1 Dual layer DVD... If you dont know how to dl xbox games then there is a guy on CL that sells them for $8... Still better than any retail price...

one big diff.
u place with your PC game on PC and you cant' invitie you frients to play.
with sport games you can have a bunch of you together on a Xbox.

hamhead 02-03-2009 05:38 PM

ya i played cod5 w/ my room mates on the xbox360 but its connected to a small TV (20") so more than 2 players is impossible, although N64 is very playable on 4 players due to the easy-on-the-eyes graphics.

i have cod5 on PC as well, but it is so frustrating dealing with the crashes and the inability to play online or even co-op offline with someone beside u. but on xbox360 u can play with someone beside you in co-op offline, like Zombies or just campain.

i found all the extra stuff, deleted it all and i still only have 12.6 gigs remaining.. does xbox live really take up that much?

my game folder without all the demo's and only the games i play is only like 900mb's..

hey guys, does the stock xbox360 rear black fans always run at 5v?

Hondaracer 02-04-2009 03:08 PM

Sorry renn, totally missed that first post of yours, make sense now

RRxtar 02-04-2009 04:50 PM

HDMI isnt a huge selling point for me.

Component video cables to the TV perform just as well as HDMI at 1080i (which the 360 is) and then run an optical audio cable to your receiver.

Hondaracer 02-04-2009 09:10 PM

^ if your receiver has enough HDMI ports i'd always prefer to go with HDMI based simply on having a single cable

wish i could afford a 5 HDMI input receiver :(

hamhead 02-04-2009 11:50 PM

dude its so easy. just get those switches that have 5 into1 HDMI ports.

anyways, i bought the xbox360. modded, 20gb, and 1 controller, w/ HDMI. time for some gaming!!! left 4 dead was crazy fun and COD5 was awesome!!

now.. i just need to know if the fans at the rear of the xbox run at 5V only or increases to 12V when temp rises?? cuz.. im gonna either buy an intercooler or mod the van to run 12V always

Vansterdam 02-05-2009 01:07 AM

intercooler fucks up ur xbox , stay away from it.

also its better to save the games you play most often onto ur HD, less stress on ur xbox and it makes it run preety dam quiet

As much as its worth doing that since hes got a 20GB hard drive it would just be a waste of time loading a 6GB game on your hard drive.. Cause your just going to have to uninstall it again for more memory... Doesn't really give any stress while playing with the dvd, its all just noise..

Has anyone ever head of transfering a 20GB hard drive files to the 120GB??? Is this possible?

it loads much faster and smoother for some dvd read intensive games, like Fable 2 and Last remnant

you can take the HDD apart and transfer the files via PC or if you buy the standalone 120GB HDD, it comes with a cable to transfer the files

But for the fact that the guy has a 20GB is it really worth doing that to all his high intensive games??? GTA itself is like 7-8GB (Just made a number up) it would just take all you normal hard drive space, not only that what about all the game that you can download.. like PUZZLE FIGHTER(BEST GAME EVER)....

Looks like I will soon be upgrading to a 120GB, since my 20GB is almost full

hamhead 02-05-2009 01:03 PM

well mine is 20gb, but when i plug it in, it shows 9.99gb free LOL. filled with videos, demos, arcade games, etc... if i delete them all i free 4gb only since a few gb are reserved or whatever.

as for the intercooler, my room mate has one and its very effectivein removing the hot air. dont worry, im not getting the one where u plug the power directly from the xbox. it will have a separate AC adapter so it wont pull power from the xbox and fuck it up

Dragon-88 02-05-2009 03:10 PM

Got live yet??? give us ur gamertag..

hamhead 02-05-2009 07:26 PM
