+1. Went at 630 before heading to school. Some people got it, some people actually ordered other stuff.

And they were also handing out these coupon books..I'll take a picture of it and show you all later.

I had 2 grand slam breakfasts at 2 different locations (Marine/Cambie @ 7:40am, Kingsway @ 10am). I feel nauseous.

Why does your 2nd grand slam have 3 pancakes?
Go for another one just before 2pm for a late lunch.

....fatty!

Not necessarily... some people might actually leave bigger tips than usual because they are happy with their free meal.

Anyways, Im at the Kingsway location right now and while there is a small lineup, the turnaround is pretty quick, so it's not too bad.

Observation: 90% of the people here are Chinese. LoL!

And quite a few older (like 60+) Chinese folks here too... the kind that look like they've never had a Western breakfast in their lives, but yet still can't resist something free.

Just got back from the Lougheed/Austin one and it wasn't bad, left a bigger tip then usual and I only got 2 pancakes as well

Huge line when I left but everyone just ate and left, so that was good..had to wait for 5minutes before though

It should only be two pancakes... either that one cook made a mistake or those pancakes were thinner than normal?

But anyways, I'm stuffed...

Kingsway location still doing pretty well... minimal lineup, no more than a few minutes it looks like.

just went there as well. line ups were huge... it was maybe like 50 mins from the start when we were waiting in line to actually eating the food.

I left $3 for two.. considering she still handed us a bill that says $0.

Whats wrong with that? Your only considered cheap if your below par, which is below the 10% and 15% at high end places.

Went at 6:30 am to the Walnut Grove Denny's. Dragged the wife with me. Only 25 people at most were there. Ordered two coffees, two Grand Slams. Bill came out to under 5 bucks, so I paid ten. The meal would have cost 20 bucks, so I tipped accordingly, plus a bit more, I guess. Not that it's going to make up for all the cheap asses out there, LOL.

It's not the waitresses fault the meal's free. They were courteous and polite, and the food came within two minutes. They must have had the stuff all ready to go.

It was overall a good experience. Rumour has it that the owner of Denny's is a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan........ another rumour has it that with the economy being poor, they wanted to pay their customers back for all the support over the years.

BTW, once was enough for me. I want others to enjoy the deal and not risk making it into something they will never do again because of the problems that arise.

$1 tip is a bit low given the circumstances... but what's wrong with $3 tip for two? If the Grand Slam is $8.99 or whatever, that's more than 15% tip...

But yeah, it felt a little cheap even for me to just get water, so I ordered a Razzdango drink that cost $2.99... so all in all I still paid about five bucks.
