so work has blocked facebook. I tried https://new.facebook.com and https://www.new.facebook.com to log in but now those have been blocked as well. My friend suggested proxies and I googled proxies but the problems I'm having are popups and a lot of the features aren't functioning; ie. the chat, using the search bar for friends, sending messages from your inbox.
Does anyone know of any good proxies that will allow me to access these features or know another way to access facebook?

Your IT department blocked it for a reason...now trying to get around it and having them find out, you could jepordize your job/career. Sorry its a bit off topic hahah.

Basically, you set up your computer at home to accept Remote Desktop connections and leave it running during the day, and while at work, you connect to your home computer and use your home computer to surf Facebook.
This is actually more secure too, because they would not be able to know you accessed Facebook at all because it's your home computer that's accessing it.

Remote Desktop requires some port mapping, if you're behind a router. LogMeIn is a good alternative to the Windows Remote Desktop.

basically:
- You need to setup your router (if you have one)
- Open the port on your firewall. (if you have one)
- You need to have a password enabled on your windows account.
- Enable remote desktop connections.
- Find your external IP and make a note of it, as you'll need that to connect to your PC.
It's pretty straight forward, but if you don't know all the terminology and such, you'll want somebody that does know to set it up for you.

The easiest way is to use LogMeIn. Just sign up, and it'll walk you through installing the LogMeIn app on your home computer. Once installed, you can go to the LogMeIn site on your work computer (or any computer), log in, and you'll see your home computer, which you can then connect to. It's completely secure. I would recommend installing the FREE version to avoid the hassle of the trial running out on the PRO version.
