Good hotel/inn/accomodation in/near Tofino?

Wanted to see if any of you have recommendations for a good hotel-ish place in or around Tofino?
The girlfriend and I would like to head up there for a few nights in a couple of weeks, since she's never been. This is after Valentine's weekend, so a place with generally reasonable prices would be great. Otherwise it doesn't have to be anything really fancy, just nice, clean, and in or close to Tofino.

Thanks.

I always stay at the Tofino Motel. It's definitely one of the cheapest spots. Clean, great views, and it's right in town (walking distance to restaurants, shops, etc).

I suppose I will share my secret here since I'm such a nice person. I don't know how lucky you will get since it's like a couple weeks away, you probably have a better chance if you're flexible on your dates. However, if you're interested I would give it a shot because I got it on short notice mid-September.

We rented the alderview house in off season for $125/night for 1 couple. You get the whole house (you're just not allowed to use the master on the 3rd floor, and you have to choose one bedroom and keep the other clean). There's a hot tub, sauna, everything is in the house, even laundry soap. Just need food. Really nice place and on the main road close to town. Really great value. The old Best Western on Hastings in Vancouver costs more than that for goodness sake.

The Weigh-west is a clean motel right as you come into town. Its nothing fancy, just clean and warm.

The Tin Wis Beach Resort is a best western. Its on a great beach, clean and comfy as well. Its probably where I would suggest.

The Long Beach Lodge is one of the nicer places in town, and you should call and see if they have some cheap rates. We have lucked out and stayed there very cheap before.

Middle Beach Lodge is mid range.

Tofino is so lame when it comes to weekends and holidays. They will call anything a holiday to jack up the prices. "Oh its.. Oyster day so our rooms are double the regular rate". That being said, Tofino is one of the most gorgeous places on earth, and it is usually well worth the price. A nice, but pricey place to eat is Shelter. Its on the outskirts of the city, but always seem to have GREAT food. Awesome Casears if you like them. Tough City Sushi and Breakers are good places as well. If it isnt obvious, I love Tofino. I try to go there at least 3 or 4 times a year.

If you want B&B, call Baku at http://www.africanbeach.com/ . Its in a cabin behind his house, very earthy, modest and reasonable. Across the road from the beach and he makes you your breakfast. He's a great guy. If you stay, tell him his insurance guy recommended him. (I have many clients up there- you can say that for all these recommendations).

Todd & Linda at http://www.chestermanbeach.net/ have a unique B&B right on the beach.

Another great place is http://www.oceanvillageresort.com/ . They are separate cabins and there's a pool.

For higher end, check this place out: http://blackrockbeachhouse.com/ Not really meant for a couple!!

Really, there are too many to mention... if you want to ask any questions or are looking for something specific you can call me: 1-800-830-1066 M-F 8-5 and ask for Brian.

Oh and if in Ukee, eat at the Floathouse Restaurant at the small craft harbour- amazing sushi and grilled food.

a new resort just opened up called Black Rock in Ucluelet, and it is VERY nice inside, its just off Marine drive, can't really miss it its the only resort on that road.

DO NOT STAY AT PACIFIC RIM HOTEL. theres mold in the rooms, and they overcharge. I know for a fact as I was there when the water main went in front of the hotel and it was it all out, I got sick from it, asked for a room transfer ( I was working in town so I was there a lot ) and they accused me of smoking weed in the rooms, packed my stuff while I was at work and kicked me out. they did nothing in regards to really fixing the mold problem, they just build overtop of it with newer stuff.

please do not stay there, you will regret it.

for food try the Mattison House, its off the main road right between murrays and the pensisula hotel too. Very good food.

for food in Tofino, the Weigh West has some pretty tasty food.
