well, i remember back in the day when i was in high school, i was stupid back then. me and my friends found someone's credit card and forged a note saying it was from our "guardian" so we can have use of it. don't know if having a note will work though

When I went to California in December I got asked for a Drivers License every single time I used my credit card. In Canada I can count the times I've ever been asked for ID on one hand over the last 14 years.

I use my credit card all the time.. and id have to say 99% of the time ive never been ID'd.. the odd couple of times I have had.. thus being said my friend use to always use his moms credit card to buy shit in stores or online

I've bought things with my moms credit card when I was younger and I don't even have the same last name as her. Really depends if they ID you which they probably will if its a pricey item.

Whether your fiancee will be able to use your credit card to make this purchase without you being there will depend on how diligent the store is being. It's true what everyone's saying about a lot of places not checking id/signatures before they hand you back the card. So many people seem suprise when stores do ask for ID when the signature on the card is no longer legible (from long term use) or if its a large purchase.

I have even had customers that get offended when I ask for ID like I am accusing them of being a criminal. Then it leads to me having to explain to them that if people never checked signatures or ID there would be even more credit card fraud then there is now.
