"Marlene" from that Topaz for sale thread has gotta be his mom/gf. Thats as white trash a name as they come. Marlene and son Kurtis (with a K)....has a nice redneck ring to it.

i think i found a good solution on how to prevent people like him from reproducing..... mandatory castration upon getting caught. the officers should just carry around a machete and a block of wood around when arresting people like this.... maybe a bigger version of a cigar lighter | even easier, cigar cutter!

when i heard about the story i thought the name Aneez Mohamed sounded familiar but figured there's bound to be more than one person with that name in Vancouver. Then i read in the Province story on the couple which said he attended Kamloops Secondary School and realised i did know him. back when i was with my first girlfriend, he was dating her older sister. i also went to school with his younger brother. he was such a nice guy, very smart, and even though at the time he was just graduating high school you knew he was going to be very successful. such a tragic loss. i hope this kid lives with this his actions for the rest of his life.

What's really sad is that this kid will probably never realize the damage he has done nor will he ever truly own up to it. He'll be out of jail in his 20s and he'll move on.

They may very well and better charge this failure as an adult because of his criminal history and what it involvedf this time.
He ran because he was drunk and because he's a stupid kid and paniced.
Remember a while ago when that idiot in surrey drunk driving a TL smoked a beamer with the east indian family in it and killed the parents while they were going home from their daughters engagement?
The kid did the same thing, he ran and because it took the cops so long
to find him with his family harboring him, he finally was found or came forward way after a time when
they could even test for alcohol in his body. He knew what he could do to at least save himself from DUI charge, that's why he ran.
Another sad ending because you know this punk will just get a slap on the wrist like all the other criminals. Canadian justice system is far from something we can rely on or be proud of.

Canadian justice system is far from something we can rely on or be proud of. | Ya, the best thing you could ever do if you were drunk and in an accident is go to the bar and have some drinks. They would have a hell of a tough time proving you were drunk and leaving the scene charges aren't nearly as bad as DUI charges.

That way instead of serving 25 to life I serve a possible 3-5 years?

Hey all. Turns out my buddy in Ontario knew the girl, and 2 ex-coworkers of mine at the VGH organ transplant team knew the doctor as well. They're setting up a fund in memory of the doctor, and any donations would be appreciated:
