Protein Shake

what brand of protein drink/whey protein drink would you recommend? I'm just starting out and was just wondering which ones tasted good.

just suck it up. I get so thirsty that I totally ignore the taste of it after an intense workout. I take quick mass as well.

fobman: isnt quick mass used to gain mass? im looking for protein supplementation, not gaining weight. unless quick mass has protein in it as well..?

yangwenli: for me, when i workout, i drink a lot of water, so when i do end my workout, im not thirsty, but hungry. the protein i have right now tastes like chalk mixed with strawberry flavored dust.

Reflex or Popeyes should carry most of the brands mentioned here. I think even Walmart carries ON now.

quick mass is not only for gaining weight.. 4 scoops are recommended for gaining weight and muscles but if you just trying to maintain your body size with some muscles then taking 2 scoop is recommended.
is really up to you.. and what your goal is.

i use ON double chocolate or muscle milk chocolate

if you are in it for taste just get chocolate b/c its really hard to mess up chocolate as a flavor

i usually get my protein from popeye's but halo mentioned in another thread that the price of ON's has gone up quite a bit. I usually buy like 600-700 dollars worth of supplements so the guy gives me a discount
wal mart was selling the stuff not too long ago for 49.99 but good luck trying to find a place that still stocks them. i read somewhere that it was a one time deal and they wouldn't be ordering anymore

I use plain protein. I ran out of flavoring for it. I either just down it plain (which actually isnt too bad.. in fact it tastes better then some of the shitty vanilla flavored proteins I've bought before) or I just grab a pack of crystal light and throw it in.

all whey protein is the same...you don't need to buy expensive ones.... i like kaizen or ON whey protein...both are under $50

ON was what I used was great after a workout. I found that quick mass had too much sugar in it and I was gaining a lot of useless weight in fat.
