regular cable looks great on SDTVs but looks like crap on HDTVs... once you buy an HDTV and get HD cable you will never watch SD cable again. i only watch channels 199-229 on mine.

me too. i got the movie package free for a month but i dont think its worth the extra $14 a month. im just gonna keep the hd plus for an extra $9 a month when the free period is over.

yeah i was getting the movie package for $5 a month for a year and i never watched it. after the year it shot up to $14 and i cancelled it, the only thing that sucks is that i will miss out on HBO HD.

Some people buy them for game consoles. I watch 2-3hrs a week of tv so i mainly bought my hdtv for my 360/ps3. I didnt have an hd box because i didnt think i would use it. But for that 2-3 hours of tv i watch a week i couldnt stand how horrible it looked. Which made me buy an hdbox, fucking scam

Does your TV have an ATSC tuner? If so, you can basically build an antenna out of a coat hanger (youtube it) and get free HD (CBC-HD, CTV-HD, GLOBAL-HD) if you have a line of sight with Mount Seymour.

made this today, about 15min

2 copper wires 6" long
1 terminal strip
1 coxial cable

and in the end, got 3 hd channels cbc, global, ctv. i don't know if there are more free channels. my tv only picked up these ones.

currently using the shaw digital box for regular paid cable plugged into the composite input, and coxial/antenna input for the home made hd antenna
