| Laptop formatting
I bought a laptop about a year ago, but want to format now to clean up all the random shit I've accumulated. I never got a Windows Vista cd with the purchase, but have a cd key, where would I go about getting a copy of Vista?
Will I have any problems with drivers, or should they just come with Vista?
Also if I wanted to partion my HD to run a Linux/Windows split, whats a good program for partioning

As long as your going with the same os that it came with you should not have a problem with drivers. All Drivers can be found from the manufacturers website. I believe you can request for a recovery cd, which has all the drivers and os software.

If I was given 2 recovery CD's, should one of those have the Vista install files on them then?

First, check in the Disk Manager to see if there is a hidden recovery partition on the hard drive. If so, when you turn the laptop on, there should be an option to boot into system recovery or restore mode where you can restore the laptop back to its factory state. If not, look in the start menu for a recovery disc creator, where it will guide you to make a set of CDs or DVDs to restore back to original factory state. I think pretty much all laptops come with at least one of these options.

for partitioning you don't need anything extra, Vista lets to break off un-used space from any partition to create new partitions, super handy. just go into the disk manager, pick a partiton, right click, shrink, follow the steps.
