about 17k to spend, what car can i get?

I'm looking for a used ride, good on gas, mid to good storage space in trunk.

I've been looking at the 2006ish Mazda 3

but i'm taking suggestions, i'm just not sure what to look for.

Nissan Sentra? Honda Accord? i don't know, just taking suggestions.

Four door, 4 cylinder, Power everything. Decent looking.

no kia, or hyundai suggestions plz.

GordonTse 02-14-2009 05:01 PM

you gotta give more criteria in a car. a civic sedan is relatively good on gas, decent trunk size.

shenmecar 02-14-2009 05:19 PM

smart

nabs 02-14-2009 05:32 PM

hmm, i don't want a civic.

GordonTse 02-14-2009 05:34 PM

whats wrong with a civic? lol. you can get a BRAND new base model nissan versa starting at $14 after tax is about $16 or so..

nabs 02-14-2009 05:35 PM

i was thinking about the versa, i will go check it out soon. I like the whole cockpit feel of a car, like i like how the mazda 3 feels like its wrapping around you when you sit in it. Nissan's have that same feel as well.

CanadaGoose 02-14-2009 07:10 PM

If you're going to make a thread like this, PLEASE post a NARROW CRITERIA OR A SHORT LIST

$17,000, 4 doors, power everything is extremely vague. it could be anything

thanks

Acura RSX-S
not bad on gas, decent trunk space

v1nce 02-14-2009 09:11 PM

honda fit

tiger_handheld 02-14-2009 09:14 PM

toyota corolla!

hk20000 02-14-2009 09:42 PM

Mazda6 2.3
Using it as rental I'm quite impressed by the packaging. Mazda3 is great too of course but 6 would be much larger. Otherwise mechanically similar.

Used audi and put some aftermarket exhaust on it.

cococly 02-15-2009 12:00 AM

Lease an 09 WRX265 for 2 years =)

turbomelon 02-15-2009 12:24 AM

02 bugeye wrx, with the spare change you can make some improvements or just save the cash.

4 door, awd, turbo, fun and has enough room to fit 8 people if you have one friend lying on the floor and 1 sitting on another guy's lap.

nabs 02-15-2009 12:36 AM

all good suggestions... i was looking at the WRX. It may be definitely an option. they are less expensive than i thought they would be.

Audi is also a good suggestion. Thanks.

2004.5-2005 VW Jetta GLI (BBS RC wheels, Full GLI bodykit (front/rear valences and side skirts), Recaro seats(red trim), brush aluminum pieces, 6 speed etc etc) Moderate/good on gas. Fun car to drive.

jing 02-15-2009 02:20 AM

Buy an S14 and dump 10g's worth of mods into it.

DC5-S 02-15-2009 06:50 AM

get the RSX.. it gets great gas mileage and u have power when you need it

hk20000 02-15-2009 06:59 AM

He did say he wants a 4 door.

parked my MZ6 next to a bugeye yesterday and the MZ6 is at least 1ft+ longer.

So it kind of depends on what you are looking for, space or performance?
