How do I remove spray paint? Some motherfucking kids just spray painted my 09 fit from headlight to back door yesterday.. What can I use to remove the spray paint but not damaging the paint on the car itself? Thanks |
shit that pretty harsh im guessing some sort of gasoline or nail polish remover might work? but i don know if it will be harmful to the paint underneath, damaging ur clear coat and stuff |
How big was the spary paint? If it's large enough, report it to ICBC and get a NEW paintjob :) Is your car as bad as this? http://xe1.xanga.com/c3cd5246d203011.../m80423387.jpg |
Fuck do people have no respect for anything anymore? |

Im trying not to pay 300 deductable for that if possible. i did a search on the forum.. looks like this product Xzenit works well. Does anyone know where i can get it? http://www.revscene.net/forums/cant-...t=paint+remove |
isnt dat 3series parked right outside of SR racing? |
oh my fucking god..... |
if your car was recently pollished, you might be able to get away with just stripping the wax off maybe. if its on the clearcoat......not sure....talk to some detailing places, see if they know any tricks. |
Hardcore clay baring? I can remember a friend and i did it for his car once. It sucked hard, but we got it done and his car looked great afterwards! Quite the process tho! |
acetone? methyl hydrate |
A product called "Goof Off" works mint. Just don't touch your headlights or plastic parts with it - they'll melt if you leave enough on it. Regular metal is fine tho. Also, a Mr Clean Magic Eraser does work... but takes a lot longer.. |
Try Goof Off first, in a small area of the car. I was just using it to remove the carpet & glue residue from the inside shell of my race car. It takes the glue right off without fucking up the paint. Don't wait long - the harder the spray paint gets, the less effective the goof off will be. You can also try Toulene in a very small area and see how that works. It's like Goof Off but way harser, but doesn't actually remove paint like WD40, but it may dull the finish if you let it sit too long. Otherwise just buck up the $300 or $500 deductable and get it fixed by ICBC at a Bodyshop. |
Clay bar works fine. |
Fuck all the suggestion above... my buddy's car got spray painted in SFU...he brought his car to ICBC, the estimator there took out a can of paint remover and it was gone COMPLETELY, he even waxed that part for him. FREE AND EASY. |

i used this stuff (finish prep): http://finishfirstpolish.com/orderpage.html this was back in my honda-tech days. i had used the finish first polish stuff on my dad's car about 2-3 months prior, and then he went out one night downtown and some moron spray painted "FUCK" all over the hood and every other car in the restuarant parking lot. it wasn't until morning before i could do something about it i spent maybe an hour and half the 8oz. bottle getting it off :( |

I remember seeing this car like years back when the 335 first came out getting towed with all the spray painting and shit. Who ever did that also burned his taillight and mirror + other random car parts. Had a N sign on that back so I assume he pissed of some other teenagers. |
