after a long wait i finally got my affordable dream car and i love it to pieces. 40TH anniversary edition RX-8. picked it up for 30 grand.

i heard there was tranny problems with the rx8, and the warrenty doesn't cover it
But i do like the shape for the rx8, nice...

Stock RX-8 is weak under 5000RPM...

^^ just filled up yesterday...god damn the thing eats gas...but it's oh so fun to drive.

It's BAAAAAAAAD.

We're talking about short shifting under 4k RPM and easy acceleration, and STILL only able to get 300km per 60L at MOST.

Highway driving, maybe 350km. :eek5r:

is it 6 speed? man i totally regret getting an auto :P
what colour is it? i've seen a rx8 with a metalic blue colour, looks nice~

People are averaging about 450-500+ kms on highway trips, 300-350 around town, I think, on RX8club. YMMV, of course, especially in winter.

check out port moody mazda...theres 3 more rx-8s left...not 40th anni edition but it's all gts and theres 2 blues and 1 black. all stick. 30gs for it i believe.

and to answer a previous members question. yes it is stick.

Official specs from Mazda is:

With manual transmission (6MT): City = 12.8L/100km, Highway = 9.2L/100km
With automatic transmission (6AT): City = 13.3L/100km, Highway = 8.9L/100km

The whole fuel economy thing is overblown, honestly.
