Initial D Extreme PS3

Just wondering if anyone knows if I can get this game locally around here. I'm looking for the Japanese version since it has online play. If I can't get one locally I can always order it online.

I figure since the ps3 is region free, this and a g25 wheel would be an awesome combo to kick with some friends and beers! I know it's all in Japanese but people have translated everything in the game so its easy to get through the menu's and what everything means.

Thanks in advance.

I got mine from dealextreme.com for about $50cnd back in January when the exchange rate sucked. Free shipping and it took 1.5weeks to arrive from HK. Tho this is the asia version meaning no online play. I dont think ill be playing online anyway and plus i think you need to have a jap psn account or something like that to play the jap version with online play.

If you want the Jap version, it'll cost you more. Try playasia.com or something and check out their price. I think its higher than dealextreme.

Yeah I found a few, I'm willing to pay for it but I wasn't sure if there were extra border charges or anything like that. Japan-video games.com, play-asia and all them have it in stock.

This will really depend on how you see the Initial D franchise, after playing the arcade series RELIGIOUSLY for 10years, the 4th one was dissapointing, the "gods" of the game will always be "gods" and thus if you were to beat their times, tough luck. The random online battles are good, but the game is very "technical" and there is ALOT to learn to get good, where as GT5 is a simulator.

to this day, i still hold the fastest AKINA DH time in vancouver..its been two years..
ahhahahahahaha

this game was quite shitty.... but damn addicting for some reason...

long load times, poor car physics, i mean, why the fuck does it takes a STI 0-100 9 seconds!!! every car drove pretty much the same. AI was fixed and cheats, no matter how far u are ahead, they will catch up to you in the predefined sections of the road. the game had no console specific features.

the only thing good about the game was that its was a very direct port of stage 4 from the arcades. with the G25, it felt the exact same as the arcade minus putting quarters in the machine. if this game was to compared with Wangan Midnight for PS3... then I'd have to say Initial D is a MUCH better game LOL

now if only they have MT 3 DX port to xbox live and PSN.... that would be sweet
