Congraz... and was it stolen b4 he left the party? or if he didn't bothered.?

When u found out that u lost ur car-key, the first thing to do was to contact the dealer and buy a new set of key-lock right away...

¯uÁÖ§_ 02-25-2009 06:29 PM

Any cars can be stolen, only need a tow truck , EZ ! ALL cops in vancouver do not bother to care that the siren of a car is ON when the car is being towed on the road !

Before he left the party, the car was gone.

but then..i have two friends that drive lexus, and after teh topgear..we tried it..and well..u can stand near the car, start it, and drive off and it still be driving, you just couldnt turn it back on after u park it!

Hondaracer 02-25-2009 09:17 PM

wtf.. somone should send this to ICBC or somthing because if a car is stolen with the owners keys, or keys left in ignition, arent you not covered?

ie. leaving your car idling in your driveway to warm up and it's driven off?

:werd: they don't cover stupidity

I think we should help the OP come up with a creative story to tell ICBC. The current story, as it stands, is full of "wholes". If OP tells ICBC exactly what he's told us here, 2 things will come out of it. 1 - ICBC will tell him to fuck off because of all the bullshit and 2 - he'll leave the adjuster with a headache due to all the add-ons to his story. As a conclusion, OP will not be able to get the $$$ he's looking for from ICBC.

^^Gold... :)

Even though it sounds like there could be some holes in OP's story, we should all give him the benefit of the doubt.

which top gear episode was it? anybody got video clips or something?

keyless works like its suppose to for my infiniti. Can't start the car without the key being the car. i let my frd try to drive it away once after i start the car and i got out with the keys, the engine shuts off itself before he could even make it out of the parking lot.

Anjew 02-25-2009 09:54 PM

oh god dont fucking tell ICBC you lost your keys............... or else yer fucked. how many hungry kids could you have fed with the IS-F. lol

really i tried it on my car and it wont start without a key inside other than that i have to stand really really close to the car on the driver side door

With my experience with my Lexus IS, you can start the car and have the key away from the vehicle, and the engine will continue running. My dad drove the car away once, when I was the only one that had keys when he dropped me off. He had to let the car run while he went to find me to get the key. So if the owner was standing too close to the vehicle and the thief started it up, he/she could've drove away until he/she parked the car.

Getting your keys stolen is totally different from leaving your keys in the ignition...

The way you describe the keyless system on your Infiniti seems kinda scary. So, you can leave the keys in your pocket, start the car, get out with the
keys, and the vehicle will shut off?

The post below describes my familiarity with Toyota's keyless system:

Once the car is started. The key doesn't need to be present for it to keep running. If my cellphone and fob are in the same pocket, they'll interfere with each other, and the system would lose communication with the key. Having the car shut off if it "loses sight" of the key would be very bad.

Its easy to break into any car i have a kit for it at work, the thing that confuses me is how they start the thing, inside job perhaps some1 with a spare?
