SHAW FREE HD-PVR

Hey all,

I believe this is my very first post about a HOT HOT HOT deal.
Problem is, this deal ends TOMORROW Feb 26, 2009.

For those of you livinig in Downtown Vancouver using NOVUS, you NEED to read this!!

Essentially, this is a deal that was sent to pretty much all the apartments in Downtown Vancouver that are NOVUS buildings (Novus is a Internet/Cable/Digi Phone provider that only services this area - Built in fibre-optics right into the building...very cool - for those of you who dont know) - Shaw is obviously wanting to steal over as many Novus customers as possible. (www.novusnow.ca)

I called Novus yesterday to see what they can do in terms of competing or matching this deal - They were having meetings all day yesterday to figure out what they are going to do and I should be getting a response today.

If its good enough, I'll stick with them...if their offer sucks, well...I'm off to sign up with Shaw for this amazing deal.

Click to see the PDF Scan of the Flyer (I dont have any editing tools here at work to make it a picture)

http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=6...4e75f6e8ebb871

TV:
$9.95 per month (for basic cable - $19.95 for Classic Cable)
- Includes a Free HD PVR rental for 1 year (option to buy it at 50% off the selling price of a new one after the year)
- First 2 months FREE
- Then $9.95 per month for the next 10 months

Other details: includes 26 digi channels and 9 Basic HD channels - you can add all the HD channels for $9 on top

Internet:
$19.95 per month for Xtreme-I internet - 15Mbps bandwidth
- First 2 months free
- $19.95 per month for the next 10 months
- includes Powerboost

DigiPhone:
$14.95 per month for Shaw Digital Phone Basic
- First 2 months free
- $14.95 per month after that for the next 10 months
- Includes Call display

Most importantly, you can choose to sign up with one, two or all three packages under NO CONTRACT.

Again, this expires TOMORROW - Feb 26th...
Have fun!

NOTE: Although it said only for customer who is in downtown and with NOVUS services in that buidling but if you NAG NAG NAG NAG them hard they will give in and give it to you GOOD LUCK

I switched over using this deal last Monday, except I'm only using Internet/tv, no telephone.

Novus really couldn't do anything to match it for me at the time so I switched. It cut my cost in half for a year so why not...

The deal was only sent to customers that are on novus. Doesn't specifically have to be a downtown building but if you're building has a Novus connection I guess you could call shaw and threaten to leave to novus since novus is trying to match the deal.

Just call shaw and threaten to leave. Doesn't hurt to try.

Tried, no luck. The guy I had wasn't willing to budge. I even asked what he could do for me, and was given a scripted answer.

My sister stayed with Novus. They reduced her rate to $40/month for cable and internet, and they gave her PVR at no charge. She was previously paying $43 for cable (complete package) and $38 for internet. Total ~$81. So now she's paying less than half. Competition is good.
