wow I'm surprised how many you said it was the kid's fault. Yeah I would beat the fuck of the kid if my kid slapped me like that. But at the other end her mom doesn't didn't do a good job teaching her kid. You can tell the kid's pretty naive and all he wants is his mom to understand him. Slapping her is more like letting her mom know how he was feeling before.

im basically a halfer but was never hit but i grew up scared of my dad and respect them both like crazy
2 of my cousins were beat like crazy (full asians) and when they turned 16/18 they left home asap and h8 their mom

That kid wasn't born that way. Somewhere along the line, he learned to be that way. He probably gets beat up at school or is bullied. Low self esteem. He'll most likely grow up to be a wife beater.
I was a little shit when I was young. Got beat pretty good. Hockey sticks hurt. What really got me to smarten up was the day I found my mother sobbing because of what I did. From that day, I stopped being an asshole. My father, holy shit. One look from him was enough to turn anyone into stone. When he slapped, you could hear stuff rattling in your head. LOL

as much as that kid annoyed me like no other, i'm going to say it is more of the moms fault for her son turning out like that. a child learns what he knows from his environment. yeah he is young so he might not know the difference between right and wrong but all i saw from him was excuses/lies and physical anger. all of this just to give his mom a taste of her own medicine.
when he was explaining how he was just "lightly tapping" his mom before she elbowed him in the arm, i highly doubt a light tap would provoke her to go out in a rage. just like how he "lightly slapped" his mom in the face.
it's like the neverending cycle.

Speaking of which, why is it the XBox, in particular, blamed for most of the dumb shit stuff kids do like killing themselves and whatnot? You rarely hear kids going nuts because of their Playstation or the Wii was taken away. The XBox is evil, I tells you.
