Recommend me a TV please!

Looking for...

* 32" - 37"
* Must be 1080p
* For gaming and watching TV/DVDs
* Must have headphone jack
* Budget: $1100-ish?

I have my eyes on this one: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...gon=&langid=EN

But not sure if its any good? Any recommendations/info is greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

just a suggestion, but unless you plan on sitting super close to your TV, you probably won't see the difference between 1080p/720p on a TV smaller than 46".

Don't buy 37inch, cuz you can buy 40inch 1080P with 37inch 1080P price.

Sharp for real, isn't the best choice right now.
Sharp was one of the best 16 months ago, but things change.

Now, Samsung or Sony...1080P are around 1000~1200 only.
And You can also get crazy deal in Store for open box tv (If you don't mind Open box)

Open box is not the demo.
You will have to ask the sales.

Even if you want to buy demo, most the time they won't sell it to you.
Unless the demo model is a clearance piece. Then, ull get even crazier price than Open BOX.

Open box means the item has been brought back from other customer.
Reasone could be the size of the TV isn't right for them,
or customer want different deal...etc.

I've seen a customer bought Open BOX TV which only been used for 5 hours for like 30% off the price.
A tv only been used 5 hours !? thats still a freaking NEW TV ah !? agree ?

Well, open box price is case by case.....please ask a sales to make the Deal.

LCD. Isn't plasma more expensive?

I wouldn't mind open boxes if its in brand new condition and if its barely used lol. 30% off seems like an awesome deal. Will there still be manufacture warranty on it? Do you work at a Futureshop/Best Buy ime2006?

Argh... Futureshop just jacked up the price for the Sharp TV I mentioned.

Yes, i work for FS. TV Dept.
For discount, its case by case.
Margin, Condition of the TV, and clearance...etc. will be the factors.

open box items can definately be worth it, and if it's got a good warantee whats there to worry about?

i bought the floor model of my Sony Vaio laptop, the list price was 1299, i got mine for 899 because it was the flood model clearance, and it's worked perfect ever since, didnt have a single scratch on it and has worked perfect all this time, taking it on many trips etc.

You wont find a plasma under 42 inches. Also A high end 720 TV will look better than a low end 1080p TV. With the sizes your looking at I would go with a 720P tv. At 6 plus feet you will not notice the difference.

Damn.. Why is buying a TV so complicated nowadays

If i'm planning on dual screening.. 1080p would be better choice right? Since it has a higher resolution.

for your budget, i'd probably go with the Samsung Series 5 TV (LN40A550). that's right on the money for you and the tv has great reviews.

I'm currently using my Sharp Aquos 42" (LC42D65) as pc moniter.
I've tried the Samsung 40" (LN40A550) before the sharp, i even bought both and compared them side by side, the Sharp turns out to be alots better that the Samsung, especially if u hooks it to the pc.

Sony is nice, but their price is alots higher, and the cheaper one is just crap.
As for Samsung, u'll want to get atleast the 6 series model, as the lower model isn't that good.

Also if u can afford it, get the newer 120hz LCDTV instead of the 60hz.
I still regret that i didn't get the 120hz Sharp Aquos instead, but when i bought my LCDTV back in Nov, the price on the 120hz model is more than i could afford. O well. =.="

Don't get the 720p LCD now, as the price for the 1080p is so cheap that there's no point to get the 720p. Also on the 1080p model, u can run a higher pc resolution and even PS3, xbox will run on the 1080p.

just my 2cents ^^

My parents want a new LCD tv for their room. My dad is looking to spend about 500 - 700 dollars. 32 inch is best i believe. I saw some great deals from Visions and i also have a gift card. Cant decide between the Samsung LN32A450 or Sharp LC32D44U. The tv would just be used for watching tv, dvds, and vcr. Any opinions would be appreciated. TIA!
