When police arrived, Goodman said she purchased a 10-piece chicken McNuggets meal, received her change and then was told McDonald's had run out of McNuggets. Goodman said she tried to get a refund, but the cashier told her it was against store policy and that all sales are final.

Wait, I thought the customer was awlays right at Mc-Dicks? I remember seeing one of my drunk friends demand a free cheese burger, because he paid for it (Buthe didn't pay anything) and ended up getting a free meal.

Ya, but just saying...In this case it would make sense to follow the rule, seeing as she paid for nothing...which is retarded

Woman Calls 911 After McDonald's Runs Out Of Nuggets
Fort Pierce Woman Cited For Misusing 911 Emergency Communications System

updated 4:49 p.m. PT, Wed., March. 4, 2009
FORT PIERCE, Fla. - A Fort Pierce woman called 911 three times to report an emergency after McDonald's had run out of McNuggets, according to a police report obtained Tuesday.

Latreasa Goodman, 27, was issued a written notice to appear in court for misusing the 911 emergency communications system.

According to the report, Goodman called 911 three times Saturday to report that a McDonald's employee wasn't giving her a refund for the chicken nuggets she wanted.

Lose-lose situation... first, the McDonald's was TOTALLY wrong for not giving her a refund, instead forcing her to order some other menu item... that is completely unacceptable, and I would be upset too.

Now the woman has to go to court on a charge of misusing the 911 system.

The question is though... what other recourse could she have used to get this resolved in a satisfactory manner?

And of course the media is misrepresenting the problem, because the problem isn't so much that they ran out of McNuggets, it's that they refused to refund her money.

ahahahahah wtf

I'd say the police are probably racist too...lol

switch the nugget to let say a $20,000 diamond ring, do you still think the women misused the 911? The value is different, but the underlying idea or principle is the same.

Or...switch the black women to a professional white men (lawyer, executive, etc) I bet the police arriving at the scene will side with the customer when he/she explained the situation (in a professional manner...instead of screaming like a crazy chic).

SlySi 03-06-2009 07:36 AM

Shes an idiot..

And Mcdonalds is on crack for not giving a refund.
Thats just as pathetic as the 911 call.

quasi 03-06-2009 07:50 AM

She handled it wrong. If there's anything I've learned if you want a wrong corrected and they aren't giving in at first you have to get really loud and toss out a lot of profanity. I can count the times I've done it one one hand and I'd have to feel ripped off like the lady in the above situation but when it presents itself getting angry has always got me what I wanted in the end. It's like training a puppy you have to show them you're the alpha and will not back down, tell them what they are going to do and how they are going to do it.

^ are u serious?

Mancini 03-09-2009 11:48 AM

I was expecting this to be an American incident and I was not disappointed.

Ya, I'm talking about situations where I feel someone is being a total tool not your every average day disagreement. To me it's never about the money either it's totally the principle of it that means more then anything. I can give 3 examples off the top of my head where I've went off but there kind of lengthy to type out. I'm the one who usually lets things go but I'll be the first to admit when I go off I go off like dynamite.

BabyblooLexus 03-09-2009 12:52 PM

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH wow. shes an idiot

although it IS kinda weird they wunt give her money back

3seriesBeeM 03-09-2009 12:59 PM

only in America. she couldve handled it alot differently and Mcdonalds should not refuse to give a refund and whats a refund of like 5 bucks to a multi billion dollar company

You're kidding right? Even if it was a $20 000 ring in place of some dirty bird parts, it's still not a 911 type of problem.
