Got my restricted and unrestricted at silvercore. awesome course, and my instructor was hilarious , and he even shortened the course since it was only me and 1 other guy taking it at the time lol.

You need to pass two separate exams in order to obtain your PAL and RPAL (unrestricted and restricted), however, most courses will include both

After you pass the tests, your instructor basically gives you kinda like a report card of your results to include into your application to mail in. After a mandatory wait period, your references will probably be contacted. There will definitely be a criminal background check. IIRC you cannot have had any history involving violence or drugs

i often to to a store called "italian sporting goods" on renfrew, few blocks south of hastings. (no, i dont work there or personally know anyone who does lol its just the closest store to me)

at the front desk/cashier theres a card for one of the guys who teaches the course, and if you can get a few people, you can challenge the course. me and a few co workers all bought the 2 books (for non restricted and restricted) and read them a few times over a period of a month. challenged the exam, and everyone passed. we challenged because me and my coworkers have all been to gun range many times with friends who hold their licence, so we already knew the basics of safety and what not.

should get some people on here who are interested in challenging the course, because i know my brother and a few of his friends and my gf want to get their licences.

If you want to have the most fun getting your PAL's, go to the Firearms Training Centre in Surrey. Kent Archibald is the instructor and he's just a classic guy.

So after you take the silvercore 2 day course do you just automatically apply for the PAL without a test?

Or do you have to take an exam ?

Silver core will test you and give you the results as well as help you to put your package together to submit
