Just bought my wife a 50D I hope she likes it. How much of learning curve is there from an XTi to this one? Next thing will be to enroll her in some photography classes.
What lens are you using with your 50D?
This is exactly what I'm thinking of doing, upgrading from XTi to the 50D... But still trying to decide. Lots of $$...

Now I'm thinking of buying the 40D instead and putting the difference towards a better lens. I guess the only difference between those 2 is higher res screen and 5 extra MPs. Maybe couple other things but I won't be printing anything huge so the extra MPs don't really matter much.

Got me a 40D today! Now that I've saved $400 by buying that instead of the 50D, I can put that towards a lens Just hoping my Sigma 150-500mm will sell soon so I can get an L lens again

Nice. Well I figured since I was gonna upgrade I go as far as could. The 5D was a little more than I could afford. But I am happy with it and more importantly so is my wife.
If you have $$ why not. You or your wife will love it. Easy to learn too. Switching from XTi to D40 was super easy. Took me 5-10 minutes to get used to it
