there were horses before cars. and those who travelled far, travelled in groups. i highly doubt many travelled alone for over a month in the blistering cold with no preparation whatsoever. walking may have been the only means of transportation way back, but that doesnt mean everyone went on impossibly long journeys. most people probably stayed within the confines of their villages.

he could've called a friend to send him money as he stayed at the rescue station or get a temporary job for a week to finance his travel.

lol this isnt canada and i dont know how things work in your world, but money doesnt grow on trees. what he lost is a large sum of money down there and hes most likely been saving up for a while. he would probably have to work a lot more than a mere week to get a portion of it back and still have to walk it when hes already short on time.

isn't that 18~20km from no.3 to victoria/22nd?

18km/7hrs = 2.5km/hr, that's about right.

he said he had no money with him that night

^2.5km/hr? seriously? he must either be handicap or fat as fuck. you should be able to walk 2.5km in less than 30 min.

More like 15 km. And avg walking pace is 4-5km/hr. You are looking at a max of 3.5 to 4 hours for someone slow. Sounds like he got lost and walked in circles.. haha

I once walked from highway 10 (white rock) back to my place in guildford (surrey). This was when I was about 12 and I had to go somewhere with my aunt and our transit tickets expired and we had no money to buy new ones and noone was home to pick us up. I remember being so pissed that day haha

Agreed. He must have taken breaks.
My friend lives at Victoria/51st, and he walked to Silver City in 4 hours, with a meal break at the Bridgeport IKEA McDonald's.
