Mr. Lube? Simple question: Are they worth going to? Never been there and I am wondering if their service is worth it? I need to get quite a few simple things done up: Oil change, oil filter, fuel filter, PCV Valve, Air filter. Thanks in advance. |
I'll be honest. they're expensive but cheaper than the dealership and more convenient. For the most part lazy people like their service. You'll always hear horror stories though and that's every shop/retail place. people on this board will steer you away though. good luck. |
i wanna know also, please tell us your experiences and at which location |
i go to midas for a cheap oil change. just stand there and watch if ur worried. comes out cheaper than changing it myself. |
Before I started working on my own cars many moons ago, I'd go to these quick lube shops (Mr Lube, Great Canadian, Midas, etc). They're very convenient and for the most part it was fine. Yes, if you use coupons, it can be cheaper. However, they also use cheaper products. Basic fluid changes are easy and quick enough, but changing something like your fuel filter may quickly raise your bill total because they're often in difficult to reach locations and may require dismantling part of your engine bay. When it comes to something like that, I'd rather have a mechanic work on the car rather than an oil jockey who's mechanical training is equivilant to a monkey writing the Illiad. |
how often are u suppose to change ur fuel filter??? |

Not worth it. |
Despite what people say, Mr. Lube really isn't that much cheaper than the dealer, depending on your car of course. Frankly, I don't like the idea of high school idiots screwin' with my car. If I wanted an idiot to work on my car, I'd do it myself. |
Mr lube is good for anything that does not need to be dismantled (oil changes diff fluid etc) they buy in bulk so oil changes can be cheaper than doing it yourself, but make sure to buy an oil filter yourself if you have a rare car cause they deffinatly don't stock everything. |
i only use them for rad flushes and thats it |

I like Great Canadian over Mr Lube cuz they dont hassle the shit out of you when you get there. Like.. uh change my fucking oil. I don't want to have my lights checked, transmission flushed or a fucking bj. Just a goddamn oil change please. |
I used to work at Lubeworld on 104th, and management forces all the staff to sell you stuff you don't need and they rip you off. Like when you want there "quick flush" for $40 all they put in is a bottle of there $10 and 3L of 15w40 in a used bottle that looks new and is put in with all the new bottles. They don't even care about your safety. I once had a lady come in and I noticed her left-rear tires were "severely worn" to the point I could see the metal cords showing and the manager came down and told me not to use the word "severely" cause it doesn't matter as long as we tell them it's only "worn or not" and it's on paper that we told the customer it's all ok. so I walked up to the lady and told her then I quit. But it is true most of there "techs" don't know a damn thing. |
most places for basic oil change are same, dealerships also has many retards working for them. |
DONT DO IT MAN! I went to the one in coquitlam and they forgot to put my oil cap back on. |
lube ain't too bad if you don't like getting your hands dirty. Its a bit cheaper than the dealerships. But they always ask if you want something else changed check etc lol even if you insist on just the oil change. Just watch what they do carefully and nothing will go wrong. |
anybody use Express Lube & Tune in richmond |
for all my lube and "filter" changes i go to 128 auto on north road and lougheed hwy. |
MY oil change for 08 g35 was cheaper at dealer than Mr.Lube |
