I don't know about the rest of the country but we live in Vancouver. We only need to worry about water shortages till Capilano and Coquitlam lakes are almost empty.

common myths and MY explanations which are likely correct:

Myth: Global warming is happening
Fact: Our sun has heat cycles every 11 years, the world reacts accordingly, trees clean our air, we still have lots of trees

Myth: We'll run out of oil by 201X
Fact: Current oil extraction sites will run out of oil, but thats why there's exploration teams out there to find and foster new projects for gathering oil. There's still plenty of surface oil (non-tarpits, the cheap-to-extract stuff) to last us decades, and a LOT more tar pits for the long term, when we've hopefully developes technology to extract it cheaply and efficiently

Myth: Street racing is dangerous
Fact: Street racing is dangerous but only 8 people died from street racing last year while 110 died in bc alone for drunk driving. see my thread which has somehow ended up in fight club category, like wtf forum censorship by nazi mods LOl jk plz dont ban

Myth: We'll run out of water
Fact: Refer to grade 2 science text books. You can turn piss into drinkable water thanks to waters two best friends: evaporation and condensation. Likewise, chemicals can be manually extracted through water treatment plants, then the remaining safe-waste water can evaporate without damaging the ecosystem

Myth: Garbage is ruining the planet
Fact: A lot of garbage biodegrades, just like your body after you die. It turns into mush, then soil, then after many years its like there was never any garbage at all. Also, in the future, rocket ships will send garbage to the sun.

This is full of fail.

I was totally thinking the same thing, though I know people who already do that, which if we are paying a flat rate, is a pretty big risk to take, knowing human waste contains a LOT of bacteria, and the bacteria would just sit there and grow all day. LOL

and water DOES recycle, but it does so at a slower rate then we use it

so in short, you're a fucking moron.

Not jerking off in the shower would probably save time and water. Or maybe you could compromise, and jerk off quicker, but enjoy it less - while still saving water.

wtf is this shit? did you even read these links?? the first link has nothing to do with the rate at which water recycles. and you expect me to read the rest?

in fact, looking at the first link, this backs up my statements if anything:

"The amount of water on Earth does not change. The amount of water that evaporates each year and the amount that falls back to the ground are consistent. If we have a drought, it is not because the world's rainfall for the year is less, but because rain is falling somewhere else and not on us.

I can see reading comprehension isn't ur strength
"These days our limited water resources are facing pressure from increasing population at the same time as our climate is changing. We are using our precious water supplies at a faster rate than they are being replenished."

Really? I apologize for my lack of reading comprehension. Could you please describe what you meant when you said this:

and this taken from the first link of your choosing:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but according to your source, the evaporated water is simply pouring (raining) ELSEWHERE. Your statement, in my intepretation, is basically saying the recycling process takes LONGER.

Do you also remember what you were initially quoting me on?

Water can't just disappear. It'll go somewhere else, but it doesn't go into an eternal void. It'll go into the ground, in the toilet, the water will come back. You can make water out of almost anything liquid, but the naturally occurring recycling process will ALWAYS replenish water for ourselves as long as we have treatment facilities. Now for our next lesson, multiplication.....

it seems like i havent made it simple enough for you....
RECYCLE, TAKE LONGER. WE USE WATER FASTER THEN WATER RECYCLES. SO EVENTUALLY AT THIS RATE THEIR WILL BE LESS POTABLE WATER THAN WHAT IS AVAILABLE--WHICH IS WHY WE CONSERVE

when did i say that water disappears?

water replenishes. isn't that what i said? so how does that make me a moron? or did you call me a moron because i said A LOT of garbage biodegrades?

Myth: Plastic shopping bags are a large component of landfills.

Reality: Plastic shopping bags make up a very small proportion of landfill.

If all plastic bags used in Canada went to landfill, they would make up less than one per cent of residential solid waste by weight. Organic food accounts for 34 per cent and papers products 16-30 per cent.

http://www.myplasticbag.ca/main/default.php?id=1139

So please address this quote: you said garbage bags takes blah blah time to degrade. That assumption is fine, whatever, i'm not even sure if that's true but it doesn't matter because what I said was a lot of garbage biodegrades. I didn't care to throw numbers or figures. Well guess what, I was right. Organic food and paper products account for at least half of the waste in land fills, and we haven't even brushed up on the other bio degradable stuff yet.

Ask a parent of guardian about reading programs in your school.

I think it depends where you live. In the district of N.Van, it is a flat annual rate. In West Van, they started recently implementing metered water, because West Vancouverites were sprinkling their lawns all day.
