I don't think the idea would fly very well here in NA where bath houses are...unpopular to non-existent. Whether a individual spa could benefit from offering these treatments is debatable. They'll certain get good (free) media attention for their efforts. These ideas are very "Asian".

Hondaracer 03-19-2009 09:20 PM

bath houses in North america would be full of pervets and junkys lol

t8v6 03-19-2009 09:35 PM

^haha so true

AVS_Racing 03-19-2009 09:39 PM

lol i thought all these so called spas in van are whorehouses

NimbeeTT 03-19-2009 09:43 PM

oomg i've been in one of those fish spas. I was sitting in the spa with the water up to my neck and it was the STRANGEST feeling ever.
Those things literally suck on your skin but it feels like tiny needles poking you over and over again, it actually hurt a bit =(

As for the rest of the spas, i could easily just sit in my bathtub and pour in some strawberry juice and skim milk or make a tub full of green tea and sit in it. it's free, too. hmm.

StaxBundlez 03-19-2009 09:55 PM

Yah.. im gonna have to agree.. this is not gonna work over here..
your gonna have some fat ass americans taking baths in ketchup and southern bbq sauce.. then you prob got canadians trying to shower in maple syrup trying to claim that has some health benefits to it..

that fish thing is same as when Jeremy Clarkson visited Vietnam with May and Hammond? I wanna try it :D

!Tigger 03-19-2009 11:50 PM

i wanna try to fish one! hahaha

Navlys 03-19-2009 11:55 PM

There's bath houses here too. They're just there for the gay people though and I mean this quite literally.

I would like to try the fish. I wonder if they've ever had a problem with a brat kid trying to squish all the fish...

SkinnyPupp 03-20-2009 12:48 AM

I actually went to that spa, but didn't go to the whacky theme pools they have. They have an bathing-suit-required area with all that crazy shit, or a traditional onsen area. You can also buy admission to both, but I didn't have a bathing suit with me.

SkinnyPupp 03-20-2009 06:03 AM

I went to see if I had any pictures from my trip to this spa (it's called Yunessun by the way, if you ever want to go there) but all I found were some pics of this unusual car I saw on the way there:

i think someone here already tried to do that freshwater fish thing locally but the health dept. nixed it saying it wasn't approved by them or sth...
