| Kerrisdale Parking Scam?
Went to Kerrisdale today and I was pretty surprised....
Since when did install payparking for the lot across from Blockbusters???
For the longest time... it was always free and now I come here I have to pay? It's not by the city, it's by Impark as well.
Anyways, they accept cash or credit card payment. I was paying like $1, $2, $0.25... no luck, the coins all popped back out. So being sleep deprived and stupid as I was, I didn't pull out of the lot to park on the streets but proceeded to pay with my CC. After "Authorizing" for a long ass time maybe like 15 secs, and having my ticket printed out... I didn't have a good feeling about it.
Have you guys ever had that problem? Because I have heard in previous experiences, it mayyyyyyyyybee a credit card scam... skimming technique where they purposely make the Coin thing out of order, and make you use the CC to pay where to steal all your information.
So just wondering whether you guys think it's sketchy, and have had previous experiences like that as well.

Last time in the summer 08 i was at that lot, it was free. Because it's public parking for people to park and go shop around kerrisdale and go to mcdonalds and stuff... if it's an official impark meter, i'm not suprised though. It's packed ALL day by people who work in that area. Or people like me, who visit nearby people XD

I was saying their Coin payment thing wasn't working and i HAD to use my credit card... so don't know if it's safe, that's all.

Yeah, the parking next to the railroad tracks isn't free anymore! Noticed that earlier this week. Bastards. It looks like they're using some private company. Yeah those things are sketchy. Good news is that there's free parking west of Arbutus among the small streets.

We're there every week. It started in January. There is still plenty of free parking in the area, if you don't mind walking a bit farther. |

I hate to admit it, but for me, it worked. Stopped driving to work after 4th Year when they phased it in.
Uncomfortable as it may be, sometimes that's what it takes to cause someone to change their habits. (driving in this case) Look what it took for Americans to drop their SUV addiction.
