If you don't like the city, move. It's why I live in Sooke and love every damn minute of it.

If you want to be close to the city you can be but if you perfer the country or "less-city" life Sooke and other areas are not that far of a drive away. I would personally rather be closer to Sooke but where we are is great for my gf as she takes the bus everyday to Sidney for work and I work in town so its convienent.
Think of places like Toronto where if you want to live in the country you need to be ready to drive atleast an hour and a half.

the portion visibly under constrution right now is a small portion of the entire project. Phase 1a, phase 1 b will include 3 buildings above the wal-mart, 1 tower on the south side and i believe 4 commerical retail units aswell, if i recall correctly the entire project is scheduled until 2012
