Live Streaming Video Games?

Connect this box to your TV and a high speed internet connection, and play super high end games on a server. Basically it instantly streams the video content from box to your TV, and your control inputs to the server. Means you don't need crazy expensive hardware, and they can upgrade their servers as the technology changes... an interesting idea...

That's the future of gaming.

no doubt. plus it would be impossible to steal games

EB games is going to lose their mind if gaming goes that way. All video game sales would become online instant purchases.

So its a terminal....

Groundbreaking.

It may be the way gaming is going but not with that device. its going to be another 'phantom' its too ahead of its time.

well its kinda the same as a shaw cable box ... think about blockbuster and rogers video stores
they will be obsolete in the next 5 years .. you order your movie from home .. dont need to go anywhere .. i havent been to blockbuster in 2 years lol

not sure why but it makes me remember the sega channel you still needed the console for that i thought that as pretty cool at the time and i think this would be interesting as well

NashMan 03-29-2009 10:32 AM

i had sega channle it was pretty pimp

ostampflee 03-29-2009 02:18 PM

I think it'll flop even if it's popular... the bandwidth and server costs would be insane compared with a reasonable per month subscription fee.
