Anyways, the NSX has always been by dream car because of the amount of engineering that went into it during its inception and the timeless design it possesses. After 18 years, it still doesn't look outdated. The car was built for corners, not 1/4 mile drags.

The NSX will always be my dream car because I just love the way it looks. I could buy an SRT-4 for 1/3 of the price and dump 10k into it and it would smoke an NSX. But to me, it's just not an NSX.

imo if you spent like 1-2k you'd smoke a NSX, i mean stock for stock the srt4 isn't far behind.

but i agree with you

the NSX along with the FD are my reasonable dream cars and i hope to get one :D

Eastwood, I think you haven't driven a NSX in your life then. A supra, c5 or c6 might be faster than a NSX but when it comes down to handling and driving pleasure, none of those can compare to a NSX. If you just compare their quarter miles time and determine which is a better car, show how much you know about cars...

cakeTech, if you are seriously looking for a NSX, i think it is a good time now as the price has come down quite abit. Go to nsxprime.com and there are lot more info for what you should look at when you are getting one.

From the various sites available you could say they are.

Apparently some dealership in Texas bought one with over 300,000 miles then refurbrished it.

For winter reliability there's some guy in Scandanavia that hasn't had a complaint and brags about being able to go at speed limits. .

I test drove one a few years back but figured that I couldn't afford to maintain the equivalency of jdm accords and the high tire wear.
The garage preped the car with a flat tire which was disappointing. And the dealer, dressed like a Dexter Gordon look-a-like, thought I was going to blow up the tranny.

During the mid 90's you could return your NSX to the factory and have the whole car stripped to the bone, inspected, and reassembled.

lulz at the supra bashing. hondu fags at its finest.

lol this thread is awesome...

I have to agree on the looks NSX vs MK4 Supra, the NSX has an edge and even more so with the 2002+. But honestly NSX is seriously underpowered...performance wise a modified MK4 Supra > modified NSX in straight brute power and I think possibly modified NSX > modified MK4 Supra in twisties. Price wise I think its priced right its pretty rare here. Just my opinion and every has theres...BTW NSX are cheapest in the states and 97+ had the better engine if it matters to you.

honesty.

Well 140hp will get you from point A to point B.
So what's the point of getting more than 140hp??

So who ever bought a LP640, CGT, Enzo, etc is just pure idiot because their car has more than 600hp??
The statement "who would want so much power?" is pointless.
Because if you just want something get you from point a to point b any POS would do it just fine.
I don't need to push all 600hp in my car (IF I have) to fight for a parking space but I would be more than happy if I can have all 600hp delivered whenever I want.

A 97+ NSX can do 0-60 in low five or even high four.
But the car is a little overpriced.
For a 996 C4S, which was about the same MSRP when both brand new, costs about 55g and 97+ NSX is about 15g more.
Those 94~95 NSX's are about 35g but you can get a early year(99~01) 996 for that price.

that makes no sense at all. also, i just want to remind you, that YOU'RE the one who was using that stupid example in the first place. apparently there are 3 cars in the world. 600hp beasts, corollas and civics.

Coz NSX is still expensive in Japan.
Shipping it from Japan would costs more than just buy one locally.

Wow, you're beyond hopeless. First of all, never once had I called anyone an idiot for purchasing a car with 600 hp. So get that through your head if that's even possible. Secondly, I simply asked how is anyone ever going to use 600hp in the city. That was the original question which you never had an answer to because you're so fixated at the notion that there are only 2 extremes of cars in this planet (power or no power).

Because the body is aluminum you'd probably have your insurance broker take care of any fender bender rather than paying out of your own pocket. Ive seen early s2000 repair bills and they arent pretty.

The thing I dont like about the NSX is that at times the rear end can look rather unsightly. It probably has to do with its design influenced by the venerable F-16. Regardless, you dont want to be pulling "Wang Wei"-type maneuvers too often unless thats you cup of tea.

First of all, not every one just drive in the city.
Secondly, the question about is anyone ever going to use 600hp in the city is no difference from the question is anyone ever going to use 300hp in the city.
If you know the answer of the question "anyone ever going to use 300hp in the city." you will know the answer of "anyone ever going to use 600hp in the city."

HUH??? Your rebuttals are just getting weaker and weaker pal. First off, my question is specially for driving in the city. All I needed was a simple answer to that and it doesn't pertain to other parameters (and yes, I'm aware that we have highways too but that wasn't the point I was trying to make, clearly, your comprehension skills is elementary at best). Also, there is a difference between 600 to 300 hp. IT'S MATHEMATICALLY THERE FOR YOU TO SEE!!! If it's too tough for you to grasp, try this at home, count all your fingers 30 times (assuming you are not deviated in some form or shape and have 5 to begin with in each hand) and then 60 times, it's twice the effort.

Scroll through the thread and tell me who brought up the supra? Yup..Toyota fags.

You notice how the OP asked a question about the NSX only and not any other car. He's clearly got the NSX in mind for many reason.

As usual...these NSX topics leads to haters talking about Corvettes, Supra etc.. being faster....a turbo civic is faster than all them...all hail the Civic?

Hondatech 03-29-2009 04:11 PM

To the OP: Go for it  I've had mine for over three years now, and I regret nothing.
