Feast your eyes on Ferrari's all-new F430 replacement! Spied being rolled onto the back of a truck in Italy, these are the first pictures of the Prancing Horse's new entry-level model – the F450.

As you can see, the new model looks very different to the current car with a pair of sweeping side air vents, which have been enlarged to cool the improved engine and brakes.

In a bid to compete with the Lamborghini Gallardo, the new car will get a larger 4.5-litre V8 engine – hence the name – putting out around 500bhp thanks to modified mechanicals including a higher rev limit.

It will also get a new gearbox too, in the shape of the California’s seven-speed double clutch unit. This is likely to modified to suit the mid-engined car’s sportier demeanour.

The F450 may even be the first car to incorporate KERS. Used on Formula One racers, the kinetic energy recovery system turns energy saved from braking into extra power.

Expect the F450 to make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September with UK sales starting in 2010.

looks awkwardly proportioned...

Synaptik 03-29-2009 09:35 PM

not really feeling the sides. maybe one line would be better.

asian_XL 03-29-2009 09:41 PM

another GTR's lunch

Harvey Specter 03-29-2009 09:41 PM

Let's just hope the final car looks better than the California.

Ludepower 03-29-2009 09:43 PM

I like the current F430...this ones nice but just too 'slick'...maybe it'll grow on me.

Navlys 03-29-2009 11:25 PM

Agreeing on the huge wheel gap.... but the curves are like a model's. I'd tap that any day.

twitchyzero 03-29-2009 11:26 PM

n'drew 03-29-2009 11:53 PM

JIZZED IN MAH PANTS

Jackygor 03-29-2009 11:58 PM

Lines are really organic...kind of like mazda concept cars. IMO, it is not aggressive enough, but a very arousing design to say the least.

[RSX-S] 03-30-2009 12:02 AM

That's sexy. It looks more streamlined than the previous versions.

static 03-30-2009 02:15 AM

reminds me of beyonce, big ass...nice curves. just big ass.

RE-Jo 03-30-2009 08:08 AM

looks like the Koenigsegg CCX and Zonda combined...
But still waiting for the official pictures~

Lomac 03-30-2009 09:23 AM

It has a very Japanese'ish style to it. Much more of an organic look, but I'm not sure I like it. Maybe once I see the official pictures or see it in person I'll think differently.
