G37 Modding

Hi,

I'd like to find a shop to do the following on my G37:

-paint my chrome grill professionally leaving top and bottom chrome and glossy black in the center (require bumper removal)
-Install Angel eyes (require bumper removal)
-Install bat mobile tail/headlight overlays
-Install reverse bumper parking sensor
-Install Video bypass, so I can use the video player while drive isn't in Park mode
-Flood lights, puddle leds install
-eibach springs/ rear camber kit
-install sway bars
-install grounding kit
-Lip kit paint/install mount

don't ruin a perfectly good g37 after a year you will want to take those angel eyes out, headlight and taillight overlay are illegal and yo will get a vi so fast. Parking sensor? you have a g37 why not get the camera? Video bypass ... i have it too but i don't watch it at all just found it useless but for my rear passenger is perfect.

shollos 03-31-2009 07:59 AM

Hm.. i've been kindy iffy about the AEs too my main concern is that it might burn out later on or issues... as for the headlight/taillight overlay they have cutouts for the light output so It shouldnt give any issues legally, except maybe the front ones that have the amber strip tinted..

Parking sensor was kinda just for fun so my gf won't do anythign stupid..

How and where did you set up your video bypass, it be nice to have just for fun =)

shollos 03-31-2009 08:03 AM

Is this better than AEs :P

^not feeling the wheels and grill.
This is for 2nd gen non nav.
http://www.g35nyc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4502
video bypass is relatively easy. u dont actually install anything, you open up the radio and cut 2 wires (VSS: tells if the car is moving) and (parking brake) you ground that wire to body. mind you, the warranty for radio area will be void after this.
For NAV,

Thanks for the links, I really not a handy guy and would be much more comfortable getting someone to do this for my g37, any recommendations?

I put AEs in my MB's headlights, required heating and opening the lenses, gluing in the AEs, then heating and sealing the lenses... now I have one that burnt out and it's going to be a PITA to replace it!

I really like them though, I have the same ones from Umnitza, SUPER BRIGHT!

Headlight overlay will get you pulled over, taillight doubtfully. My taillights have been smoked for 7 years, never a problem, even passed safety.

ek.powa 03-31-2009 12:17 PM

get them NEON LIGHTS YO

G Hawk 03-31-2009 12:50 PM

try Z tune. they are in Burnaby I believe

mmmk 03-31-2009 12:57 PM

u will probably need a audio/video shop to do the:
-Install Video bypass, so I can use the video player while drive isn't in Park mode

shollos 03-31-2009 01:02 PM

how long did yours last b4 they get burnt out..

Maybe i shouldnt.. since if it burns out in a year.. getting another kit.. + reinstall will be a PITA... damn..

I should have returned mine, one didn't light up as quickly as the others, took about 30secs to get to full brightness. Its the one that burnt out.

The other 3 are going strong, 2 years later.

shollos 03-31-2009 01:35 PM

do you know what sort of adhesive they used to mount them on? Any pics of the install on your car? and who did yours =P

AzNightmare 03-31-2009 07:22 PM

hey, that's one of the nicer G37's i've seen.
I still think it would look 10x better if the grill was straight rather than flexing up (and down).

oinkoinkpig 03-31-2009 08:23 PM

I recommend putting neon lights on your rims..
so you can spin while your neon lights are spinning ohhhh

i saw this car in vegas with LED on the rims so when the car is rolling the LED spells out words and picture

now that is ballin :haha::haha:

simsimi1004 04-01-2009 06:54 AM

bypass takes 30 mins Tops doing it alone. dont really need skills, just good at following instructions but if you dont feel comfortable others have recommend some shops. ^^^

another easy mod that you didnt add in was switching LEDS in your interior, trunk, and license plate.
Changing cabinet lights to white LEDS make the car so much sexier. and especially the license plate lights, changing it to white leds gives it a crisp sharp look compared to those yellow lights. our 335 came with stock led license plate lights but g35 didnt so i switched em out. and to satisfy the small portion of ricer in me, the inside trunk light, i put on a blue led. lol

Timpo 04-01-2009 10:39 AM

you need Impul bodykit
