One of my old supervisors used to work as some sort of clerk for the Richmond FD back in the 80's and told me that many had drug addiction problems. This is just hearsay though, so I'm not certain how accurate this is.

hey guys sorry for the late response....im not actually doing fire fighting right now...im helping my uncle out and working as a medical and rescue responder for a construction project in the boonies....i work 3 week on 1 week off shifts...
and yes...i make more than 75K a year + bonuses and shit....
anyways ya, well im gonna take a test run i get my first 2week paycheque tomorrow....
and then on the next pay cheque i will have one week of pay(since i have 1 of the 2 weeks off) and see how much of a difference i get...
then i will try to adjust accordingly if banking of hours will net me some extra income from the taxman.

If you're losing a lot of money to the taxman (cause the accountant cannot predict how much you'll make annually and tax you accordingly), you'll get it back in Apr.
21 days working and 7 days off is about what most of us get 20 days working and 8 days off. I'd take the cash, not bank the hours.

Please read this: http://www.taxtips.ca/taxrates/bc.htm
The highest tax rate in BC is 43.7% and that's only if your OT pushes you into making $126K.
The OP makes $75K, so even if OT pushed him to $100K, he'll ONLY be losing 6% more on his OT pay than regular pay.
