self defense paintball gun

hey i just came across this a while ago and was wondering how legal is this gun if i were to use it in an emergency?

I would highly recommend NOT carrying something like that in public. If somebody catches a glimpse of that hidden somewhere on you and calls the police you will be taken down at gun point, which I am guessing you wouldn't want.

I am curious about one thing in re: that gun. It seems to be an ordinary (low capacity) paintball gun, but it is designed to carry what I assume are "pepper balls" as opposed to paintballs.

What's the legality on the "pepperballs"? I had seen them used by cops down south (Youtube video of the cops trying to take down a very drunk very massive guy), but I'm curious about their status up here.
