300zx front bumper

Ok so i have a back 1990 Nissan 300zx
if any of you guys saw it at the meet you can tell it needs some work done on the front bumper.
the damage is not TO bad but bad enough to make me want to fix it
its just the lip that is cracked and kinda saggin
would it be worth it go get it fixed at a body shop ?
OR would it be better to A. get a new lip (if they just sell the lips not sure or do you have to buy a whole new front bumper?)
B. get it fixed

but if i do get a new one
were the heck do you find them?
i called ALMOST every junk yard in the lower main land and found nothing?
whats the deal
were do you find those bad boys?

threezero 03-31-2009 11:00 PM

z tune specializes in 300zx you could try them.

you want OEM replacement? if not maybe you would be interested in some aftermarket bumpers

HollyZ32 03-31-2009 11:02 PM

Hahaha my car is at $$$$$ right now
Nothing after market
just stock
i want to keep my Z stock looking

og_greek 04-01-2009 01:21 AM

Get the Stillen GTZ front lip, looks like stock, except with a lip, therefore better

That one if deff not bad i woudlnt mind that
im assuming it would have to be paint
how much do paint jobs cost for just a lip on a car?

FatalCloud 04-01-2009 07:52 AM

should cost you no more than $200

Aetios 04-01-2009 03:01 PM

Post a picture of your damaged bumper, I want to see the severity of it.

This.

Shitty deal that you weren't considering a new front bumper last month, as 300zxclub had a group buy/sale on em.

But consider these options anyways:

99' Spec Front + lights:

Stillen GTZ Lip:

Stillen Type 3 Lip:

ps - that's the cheapest you'll find a 99' spec front.

HollyZ32 04-02-2009 01:51 AM

You're right, that picture is not very telling. Can you even get an OEM lip, I thought it was all just one piece, so you'd have to replace the entire bumper if you wanted it OEM. My very first car was a 92 300zx, I still miss it. I had a damaged bumper as well, but not as severe as yours. I ended up replacing it with a similar/clean looking aftermarket bumber. If you want OEM, it will cost you a pretty penny. Aftermarket is cheaper. And there are bumpers that look very similar if not better than the stock bumper. Give it some thought.

Ok better pic kinda sorry it was done on my camera phone
Also like 3 months ago i was quouted at a body shop in abby that it could be fixed for i think it was between $400 - $600

Looks like you just need a lip?

i would assume aftermarket lips would be unpainted.. you could always go ghetto and rattle can it if you're on a tight budget

you could also try looking for a lip off another car, at a car yard.. and adapting it to your car.. not sure how that would turn out though

og_greek 04-03-2009 12:23 PM

definitely do not repair that. The oem NA lip is too ugly. Swap it for the GTZ lip for the same price as the repair cost, and everyone is happy :)

HollyZ32 04-03-2009 01:37 PM

So it would be pointless to even try and fix it eh haha damn
letsjust say ..im on a starbucks budget hahahah oh man the worst kind eh
i called every junk yard in the lowermain land and they dont even have any 300's so that kinda sucks
and i know i just wanna replace the lip right now i dont care if its a stock one or after market i just want it to look stock because i dont want to change the look of my z i like it stokc lol
like i dont care if it looks a little diffrent just nothnig over the top

GLOW 04-03-2009 10:05 PM

ouch your lip looks like it's about to fall off. have you tried the local 300 forums? maybe someone on there is trying to get rid of one or selling an old one if they mod'd their car.

HollyZ32 04-03-2009 10:10 PM

it looks like its going to but its totally not haha
i used to have it held up with a zap strap but it looked ghetto so i took it off..but yet it still looks ghettoo lol
i dont know any 300zx forums lol
i only know 604Z but that is no longer lol :(

Death2Theft 04-04-2009 08:49 AM

invader 04-28-2009 10:59 AM

So you went with the Stillen NA lip?
This is what its going to look like. It can be done tastefully. Think of it this way, you can retain your headlight washers! (If had them to begin with)
