Berz out.

I'm just saying, you can't blame that guy for not knowing that the points were removed....

!SG 04-02-2009 05:34 PM

fare enough. i figured that by me removing and reversing the points after the pm was a good enough indication that no need for a pm back was required.

Everybody is entitled to their opinions and such, but in certain sections, such as the Buy/Sell and VOT, have certain rules and are quite simple to follow.

Giving out minor infractions in the buy/sell usually results in me receiving PM's that are pointless to read. Such as "Why t3h fuck did i get theze points yo?"

If the user honestly didn't know, then I don't mind explaining, but PM'ing a mod with nothing but garbage language isn't going to get you anywhere.

k2_alpha 04-03-2009 01:18 AM

^ to build on that,
Death threats and threats of violence is NOT going to get you anywhere.
Asking me if I still want to have kids, is not going to make me take the points away.

Think of the Court of Appeal when you PM a Mod to remove points
Do you thrash talk or threaten the judge?
Do the research on why the mod gave you the points originally.
The mod will ALWAYS tell you why you received them.
If you still think it is unjustified, then appeal.
Talk with manner and dignity.

I think that's the issue too; the community comes here to post garbage (sometimes useful garbage nevertheless), not to come to some tight-knit moderating that's comparing itself to "the Court of Appeal" and "judges".

Let me drive your Murcielago for a day and I'll make you a mod.

But to add to what !SG has to say;

If anyone has any issues inside of VLS we ask that you approach us immediately and let us know. Communication has been mentioned earlier in this thread and even though the issues being addressed aren't specific to VLS we want our members to know that if you're upset about points you can message us to discuss it or you can PM me directly.

Unless you post links to download in the movie forum... or spoilers. Then you deserve what you get. :P

everyone just has to relax. there's a thread i was reading last night where SG! and some other guy got off about camber.... i mean really? the other guy just kept going on with out reading what was posted.

people need to calm down and READ the post before replying and making a fool of them selves

there is where you are wrong.
post all the "useful garbage" you want.
In fact I would like you to, as I personally enjoy them sometimes.

However, when you want to appeal something, then it is time to sober up.
The moderating team is not as sober as the court system.
All I was trying to do is give you something to compare too.

So in plain words:
If you want a mod to remove points he/she has given you, ask politely and give the mod some time to respond.

If you do so, the mod will respond to you and try to give you a valid reason. If the reason is not valid, then the steps to removing points will begin.

C'mon guys, it's just points. The world isnt gonna end after u get points. Relax!!!

!SG 04-03-2009 11:00 AM

oh so you think... the world ends just a little faster for those with major points...

hahaha...

I just noticed something, it didnt clue in until now.

I had many ppl, including sponsors complain that the mods arent doing anything

I looked into it, and found out what they meant. A moderator can be posting in the very same thread, but cannot moderate that thread. Why? Moderators listed for certain forums are allowed to moderator that forum. Only admins/global moderators can moderate anywhere on the board.

If you see a thread going offtopic, being shitted on, click on the "report thread" option. it will send out a pm and email to all admins/global moderators/moderators of THAT forum

We cant babysit everywhere, and if you dont notify us, we wont know. it may just be by chance we were IN that thread. And because we made a post in that thread, doesnt mean we have read every single post posted before our post. Most times, unless we check back on that thread, we arent there checking every single post after!

!SG 04-03-2009 11:05 AM

ill say it again

Just because that person is a moderator, does not mean they are a moderator of that forum

Its like complaining and bitching to a janitor that works at bmw that your bmw has some problems. what is the janitor going to about it? Not much, you need to go to service, or whomever is in charge of warranty issues to have the problem resolved! And if you saw the problem ahead of time, and not say anything to anyone, then say to service "well you guys should have caught it earlier," the problem wont get resolved.

We are doing our best but seems no matter what, someone is gonna bitch and complain we arent doing enough.

Then there are those that like to start shit for the sake of being able to start shit. Always hiding behind that computer of yours...

SpuGen 04-03-2009 08:48 PM

Quis Custodiet ipsos Custodes.

Not first, but I don't care.
And the whole we need moderators to watch the moderators.. we have headmods/Admins for a reason.

But Like Ulic mentioned in that thread a while back, it would be nice to have a team of people who only moderate the moderators along side the headmods/admins.

This weather blows, even people at work are getting more anal. Some guy got all ass-angry because I park ANGLED into spot, that's in a corner, where there's a pole.

Man... report post, i should do that more often.
